Hey everyone!

We're trying to be as accommodating as possible so that as many people can attend.

For those in the greater Los Angeles/Orange County area - if you could attend, what day(s) (June 14-June 16) and what location(s) would work best for you?

Let's make this happen - time to pull away from our computer monitors and interact face to face! :star:

Oh brother Steven..wish we can come and join you guys..its my b-day weeks on that day..lol..!

I would love to see and meet you all..But Gary have no more vacation day off..! :(..he like the idea though..

Well enjoy and have fun..take a lots of pics to share with us.. :D:P

Well, sis - when you guys ever want to come out and visit, you are welcome to stay with us! (But you and Jinky better have muzzles for Gary and I so we won't be arguing...hehehe). :star:

When that time comes...Jinky and I will declare ''no politics/global warming/Bush topics allowed'' or else.. :D:P:devil:

Thanks for the welcome bro.. :)(F)

To be honest, the 14th is the one night around that time I think I could make it (still TBC)

Of course, I'm going to be selfish and say Westside is the best place, although thinking about it logistically it is fairly central for people coming from the Valley or the OC

As far as I can tell, we're staying on the West Side (I think the address of our hotel in LA is Culver City). I really need to read up on LA before we get there. ;)

eta: oh duh our hotel is blablabla Los Angeles Westside. D'oh

aha- Culver City (Cafe Brasil) does seem to work....plus as Robin said, it's kinda central.

Obviously being a weekday, some won't make it, but then again, Robin could on that day!

For sure! Perhaps we could schedule a second meetup at a later date that would be on weekend? Obviously it would be sans Alex & Rey, but I'm sure there's a lot of us here to make it great! :star:

What hotel is blah blah blah Alex? Is it in Culver?

I'm amused on a Bush/Global Warming ban placed on Steve and Gary. In reality, we'd just kidnap the girls to go shopping and leave them to slug it out, ultimate fighting style.

Eh...after a few beers, we'd both be crying on each other's shoulders. :P

Culver City is unfortunately too far on a weekday for us here behind the Orange curtain. :(

Yep....way too far for Lai and me on a weekday. And that Saturday, we are having my parents over since Father's Day is that weekend.

For sure, Alex! It'll be a small group of us - perhaps 8 or so, but I think it'll be worth it! :star:

Marisa (Devilette) has suggested Cafe Brazil in Culver City.

I'm thinking 7-7:30pm to compensate for traffic.

I'll PM everybody this weekend to see how many we're at.

Here's some info on Cafe Brazil - sounds like a great place! :star:

Café Brasil New Location....

11736 West Washington Blvd.....

Los Angeles, CA 90066....

ph: 310.391.1216....

fax: 310.636.1980....

LA Magazine named Café Brasil the best Brazilian food in Los Angeles.

The Zagat survey, which publishes dining guides in 45 cities worldwide covering 120 markets, has honored Café Brasil with the Award of Distinction four years in a row (2001, 2002, 2003.2004) and listing us as one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles.

In the 2003 NFT GUIDE (Not for Tourists Guide) Café Brasil was listed as one of the best restaurants in town.

The Argonaut has also given Café Brasil several wonderful reviews. The latest was in October 2002.

....

Driving down Wahington Boulevard just West of the 405 Freeway on your way to Marina del Rey you can't miss the colorful Café Brasil! The bright orange building with smiling umbrellas and lush vegetation out front give it a fun and cozy tropical atmosphere. Café Brasil isn’t just a place to get a great meal. It is a little trip to the tropics, a cultural experience, a taste of Brazil. Adding to the environment are two widescreen televisions hooked up to Rede Globo Brazilian network that feature soccer games from around the world while you eat your fresh and delicious meal. For more information about the location including maps please visit maps.google.com or http://www.mapquest.com

So let's plan on meeting there between 7-7:30pm on Thursday, June 14th! Anyone who might still like to join is welcome - we'll need to confirm reservations by Wednesay though.
