I am still hoping that they just try to approve the strong cases without interview! I am tracking cases with the number +-10 from mine, and there are some that are waiting for the interview notice for 250+ days without cancellation notice, mine was only around 190 days.

What is your local office?

All, we got our appointment scheduled for April 22, 2020. Little nervous about it. For those who have already appeared for the interview, how was it? What type of questions they asked?

How long are people waiting for interviews? My status has said ready to schedule since May 22, 2019.

I called them a month ago and they said this was unusually long and they would escalate. They said if I didn't hear anything in a month to call them back.

I got mine changed this month on March 3rd. I got the interview letter last week. Our appointment is set up for April 22, 2020. You should be getting yours soon. Ours was processed in National Benefit.

Out of curiosity, do we have MSC people or MSC transfer people who have NOT had to be interviewed? I've seen about 4 cases among posters here, but wanted to see who else might have been in the same boat.

We are MSC and we got our interview date set up for April 22.

Today's update:  I received the interview notice this evening.  Interview has been scheduled for 4/21/2020 in New York City.  I have not applied for N-400 yet, even though I'm eligible.  I have not had an interview with USCIS so far and since I applied for I-751 in February 2019, most probably the following applies:

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Laws/Memoranda/2018/2018-11-30-PM-602-0168-revised-interview-waiver-guidance-for-form-I-751.pdf

I have included all the important dates in my signature below.

Will update after the interview!

I'm having a bit of a freak out over here. My husband is currently on an I-551 stamp that expires on April 27th, 2020 (as he's waiting for his I-751 to be processed and green card to be in hand). We live in the Seattle area and already the USCIS office has been closed down for two weeks due to an employee testing positive for COVID19. All of the schools in our area are closed until at least April 27th, 2020, so I'm suspecting USCIS will follow suit. I'm trying to be a bit proactive here and am wondering what he should do if the USCIS office is not open to renew his I-551 card before it expires? His I-751 application was submitted in September of 2017. It was moved to NBC sometime in 2018. We have not heard anything since. If his I-551 stamp expires, he cannot work. We called USCIS today and they told us we could contact NBC by mail (not email or through phone), is this really our only option? Is there anyone in a similar situation? And what can we do? Any suggestions?

We're in the same boat here? Have you sent them a letter yet?

Interview done, green card delivered and received

I would like to share my experience as it might suggest best case scenario when it comes to timeline, as I felt the evidence I provided was perfect and I actually thought we wont need an interview, before realizing everyone is getting one if they didn't get it before coming to USA. Evidence: Baby born out of this marriage, bank statements, utilities, leases for 2 years, phone bills, pictures, Car insurance/health insurance/life insurance/dental. Tax returns. Retirement. Bunch of other supplementary stuff as well that I can't recall now.

I filed the I-751 on 4/15, USCIS received it on 4/17. NOA 4/29, Biometrics done on 6/27 (Rescheduled this twice, so can save some time on this stage). Biometrics received, awaiting for interview. Longgggg wait. Received email on 1/6/2020, interview scheduled for 2/18. Interview lasted 5 mins. Questions from my spouse were her name, DOB, address, DOB of our child. She asked me my Name, DOB and address. She asked if we want to give any other evidence, at which point I gave several more joint bank statements, New lease extension letter. At that point the officer stated that we have provided more than enough evidence and that she is approving it. Greencard received within 2 weeks. On to next stage.

Total time from I-751 to receiving Green card:  approx 10 months (obviously this all depends on the local center handling each cases).

I would also like to add that before interview we had to wait about 30 mins before being called. The Immigration Officer apologized for keeping us waiting as she said "They put you in wrong section, I was looking for you for a while". My understanding of this is that for people whose cases are pretty straight forward, they are kept in ?different section/?subset of interviewees and the interview is just a formality. Again, this is just my interpretation. Could be wrong.
