Discussing citizenship filing doesn't really apply to our MSC I-751 thread because not everyone here is even planning to apply for citizenship.

That's Ok , I was just discussing if it's always good to apply for the citizenship while you have a pending (I-751) or not.

I'm in agreement with you all. My worrying point is creating more delay to us .. but still if we are waiting on local office anyway won't matter then..I'm leaning to apply once window open .. looking forward to finish this journey..

It mostly depends on your local office, that's the main driving force for getting an interview as well as the processing time of the N-400. Some offices are quicker than others, same goes for the N-400.

 

I know someone here who got their N-400 processed within 7 months (so 7 months from filing to US passport in hand; they applied under the 5 year old, i.e. no ROC). That's a lot faster than other offices, where wait times for N-400 processing can go up to 24 months or more. So it's not that surprizing that the office here scheduled our I-751 so quickly, it just seems to be a fast office!

My case was moved from California to Nebraska and USCIS said that  NBC will send it to the local office for the interview. Its been 40 days and no update after that.

Oklahoma City. Yeah it’s been a bit fast. But a general thumb of rule I’ve seen this year for NBC independent of local office is 3-4 months from filing to biometrics, then 2-3 months to Ready to be scheduled then 3-4 months to interview

Oklahoma is really fast. 3 of my relative just done with their oath for N400. Total time just about 6 months from filling.

It seems it either goes quickly like this, or for others in our thread it's taking months for the interview to be scheduled. :/
