Thanks!

No they do not notify or mention that the interview will be a "combo". Both my statuses (N-400 first, then I-751) changed within hours saying interviews were scheduled. I received two appointment letters, one for each, showing the appointments at the exact same date and time.

The funny part is that the USCIS building in San Francisco is at an intersection, with entrances on each street. The appointment letters were indicating two different addresses, though they lead to the same spot. I was aware of the configuration so I didn't worry too much, but I can see it being a ####### moment if you are not familiar with the building.

I'v heard that sometimes, they conduct the I-751 at the N-400 even if you haven't received the letter. If the officer has the whole file with them it might be possible? I'm sure they will let your spouse get in if you only have the N400 letter with you though...

I hope we get a combo as well. my wife's I-751 is stuck on "ready to schedule for interview" since last October and yesterday they scheduled her interview for N400 by end of next month. lets see what happen

We filed my husband's I-751 on the 23rd with overnight mail so it got to Phoenix on the 24th. We got the extension letter yesterday 8/30 with the NBC service center. He entered on a CR1 visa in October 2019. And now we just forget about it until we get his biometrics appointment!

My case i-751 status just got updated yesterday to "ready to schedule for an interview". Do you guys have any idea how long will it take before they send an appointment letter? My service center is National Benefit Center. My nursing board exam is coming up and this adds up to my stress level. Can you please give me an idea what to bring on the interview day. Thank you so much everyone.

hi i guess only when the status changes to ‘interview scheduled’ you can expect the appoinment letter. This greatly depends on you local office availability. if you dont mind can you tell me your timeline??

Did you file that you are outside processing time or contacted Ombudsman?

I was told by the 2Tier that since my case is at MSC, I will never be outside of the processing time as there are no processing times for this center.

Having said that, I would absolutely go straight to the Ombudsman with this timeline.

Did anyone see this frikn update? 24 months now instead of 18 months! fml. This is such bullshit. THey should just waive interviews and get this going already.

September 03, 2021
Starting Sept. 4, 2021, USCIS is extending the time that receipt notices can be used to show evidence of status from 18 months to 24 months for petitioners who properly file Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, or Form I-829, Petition by Investor to Remove Conditions on Permanent Resident Status

In my humble opinion, the I-751 should be totally eliminated.  By my calculations, less than 5% of all I-751s are actually denied.  Even the I-751 interview waiver process is flawed.....

Or the first "conditional" green card could be valid for 4 years, or 5 for that matter...

10 years would be appropriate.  Why should a K-1 entrant be exempt from an interview vs a CR-1 entrant?  It just doesn't make sense.  There is no need for conditional cards at all.

I just can’t believe they are going to send New receipts out vs either changing the system, schedule the damn interviews, or waive them completely. Two years is just so stupid. It doesn’t even make sense why it’s two years. The system really needs to change. They just need to push the cases through especially when you can clearly tell by the stack of paperwork who’s marriage is legit and who’s isnt. I’m just so upset and frustrated about this. I’m only thankful that my husband is in the country with me and we are not apart like we were when waiting for the cr-1 to be approved.

A K-1 visa holder must go through the adjustment of status process after marriage, no automatic green card when entering the USA so they all interviewed for the green card by USCIS at the local field office. USCIS gets to interview both the immigrant and the spouse at the AOS interview.

Still can be slow though: K-1 here waiting 15 months so far, no appointment updates at all, no ready to schedule an interview. USCIS moved our i751 to NBC in December for faster processing then nothing (Started at California SS).

K1 Visa Arrived USA July 2017

Married August 2017

AOS Approved July 2018

Filed for i751 joint application May 2020

Fingerprints reused October 2020, and February 2021 and June 2021 (Yes 3 fingerprint notices)

Case move to National Benefits Center December 2020 for quicker processing from California Service Center

Oct 2021 out of processing time inquiry made, response May 5th 2022 that our i751 case will be addressed at our n400 interview

Combo interview May 16th 2022, in Sacramento

Approved June 08, 2022

Filed for Naturalization May 2021

Fingerprints reused May 2021

Combo interview May 16th 2022, in Sacramento,

Approved June 08, 2022

Oath Ceremony completed June 29th 2022
