Agree to get the stamp before the need for it comes.  Not sure about MN, but in some states (like NJ) we need the stamp to extend the expiration date on driver's license and in general, very likely needed for a new job.  I hope you get an infopass appointment soon!

How do you get this appointment? I will likely need it in couple of months. Case is stuck at ready to scheduled for interview since oct 2020. My drivers license will expire in October later this year. Local office in ATL, GA.

Just received Biometrics Appt set for May 24th. Local office is NJ/NY.

I am not sure if my request to speak with the second tier officer did the trick. I spoke with an agent on April 22nd asking for an update on my application and she gave me the usual generic answer. I requested to speak with tier 2 officer regarding this. She warned that they won't be of much help but proceeded to put a request through. Got a call on April 28th from tier 2 officer saying he is calling to schedule biometrics appointment. I am sure it hadn't been scheduled until he called because he specifically said he is calling to schedule. Although he said I should receive email confirmation about it, never received it. Called again the next day to USCIS toll free in order to confirm if the appointment was really scheduled. The agent said that it was scheduled but the letter had not been mailed yet and asked me to wait a week to receive the letter or call back. Got the letter in my mail yesterday.

For those of you waiting for biometrics in NY/NJ area try calling the agent and asking for tier 2 officer. It could be of some help.

I am wondering about applying for citizenship. But on the other hand I am still waiting for green card. Is it good to apply for citizenship or will it delay the process of i751?

hell yes! go apply for citizenship lol dont wait for anything. My lawyer told us that applying for citizenship can expedite the I-751. I would not wait when it comes to USCIS, as long as you are eligible to you should totally go for it.

Originally I called the usual agent on their toll free number (800) 375-5283 and waited maybe around 2-3 mins. You cannot directly call the 2nd tier officer, when you put your request in through to the agent, the 2nd tier officer will call you.
