Hi Everyone

I am a march 2019 MSC filer. My removal of condition interview is coming up soon. I lost my green card, I do not have a California ID or Drivers Licence and DMV needs my green card to issue me an ID. what can I use as a form of ID on the day of my interview? Because I heard I need to show an ID before I can get into the Uscis field office on the day of the interview. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi! I would suggest to show a copy or printed photo of your gc, may be your lawyer (if you used one) can provide some copy of it. It’s what I think.

Hi

thanks for your reply. I didn’t use a lawyer and I do not have a copy of my green card.

We got interview/approval two days ago.  I filled in September 2019.  Went to MSC.  Status changed to Ready To Schedule Interview in May of 2020.  Keep in mind they closed for COVID 6 months into the process.

I do not have Driver licence or California ID. but when I went for my fingerprints, I showed them my foreign passport as a proof of identification and they accept it. I did not show them my green card because I thought its expired so you can show your foreign passport too.

Pretty straight forward... For biographical info, I was asked both our names, date of birth, address, where exactly we live (it's a small town on the outskirts of a larger metropolitan area). I was asked how we met, my husband was asked if I missed out any details, what colour our house is, how many bathrooms we have, if we have any kids, and we talked about our dog and rescue work. He was nice and professional and even told us to try out some food in the area, since we drove almost 3 hours to get to the interview!

Did you bring anything to the interview?

Updated evidence, as well as a copy of everything I had submitted in my package, in case they didn't receive all of it.

We live in MN and my husband’s field office is Minneapolis too. They are referring to their extension letter. My husband’s green card expired in April 2020 and was sent an 18 month extension letter for the green card. My husband’s extension letter will expire in October. He got the “ Ready to schedule interview” back in Feb. and since then nothing has moved. We want to go to Egypt to visit his family in Jan but wondering after the extension letter expires in Oct what do they do then? I’ve heard about getting a stamp in in his passport but don’t know what that is. If anyone knows that would be a great help.

Oh wow my husbands green card and 18 month extension letter are both expired now. But yes that’s the stamp I was referring to 😌 hopefully we can get an interview before we need to worry about needing a stamp, we won’t be traveling until December this year! I don’t know why Minneapolis is so slow.

Agree to get the stamp before the need for it comes.  Not sure about MN, but in some states (like NJ) we need the stamp to extend the expiration date on driver's license and in general, very likely needed for a new job.  I hope you get an infopass appointment soon!

I-130 (for parents of US Citizens):

8/19/2022: NOA (IOE0917XXXXXX); Texas Service Center

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

7/27/2023: Both cases sent to NVC

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents

Wisconsin he didn’t need the stamp to renew his drivers license and he only needed his social security number when he got a new job. Thankfully he’s been able to get by without needing a stamp 😂 fingers crossed it stays that way!
