Interview should be offered in his first language

At the AOS interview inside the US?  Do you have a source for this information?

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I am currently waiting for the interview notice from the mail, and trying to prepare everything ahead.  My husband and I communicate in our own dialect,  he only understands basic English, but when it turns to speaking, he's still unable to communicate with people fluently.  I am thinking to be his translator during the interview.  Is there anyone have any experience on this?  Will the interviewer allow me to be his translator?

I did have an interpreter accompany my husband and I to the AOS interview.

I wanted the interpreter there because I was worried that the interview would be a series of complex questions and the interviewer would speak quickly and my husband wouldn’t understand what was being asked.  In addition.... there’s always a chance that there will be a Stokes interview (where the couple is separated and asked the same questions). I am a worrier.....so it was the Stokes that concerned me the most....not only would I not be able to help answer questions.....I wouldn’t be in the room.

Just an FYI to add.....the interviewer asked my husband three questions.....my husband answered in English....the interpreter didn’t say anything . But the piece of mind having her there was priceless

Stokes is not the first interview but could be the secondary you had nothing to worry about

YMMV

But I was worried about a Stokes at AOS.

I understand that Stokes can happen during the k1 or cr1 interview and the petitioner and beneficiary be required to make an additional appointment and both attend the interview.

But at the AOS.....it is my understanding (since both parties are required to be there)....that they can separate you and your spouse and question you guys separately (in fact,  several of the AOS filers from January 2018 reported being separated during the interview)
