Hi,

Is US citizen sponsor's birth certificate and passport copy required for i-864 in K1 visa holder AOS? I am confused. On USCIS website, i-864 checklist for some sponsor:  For U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals, a copy of your birth certificate, passport, or certificate of naturalization or citizenship.

This is just for CR1 or also for k1 visa holder's AOS? I appriciate for any help.

Thank you!!

Yes, the sponsor (USC) needs to send or copy passport or birth certificate with the I-864 when you file for AOS. The reason it says US citizens or US nationals under the section some sponsors is because an LPR can file an I-130 for their spouse, those people obviously don't have the US passport or US birth certificate when they get to the I-864 stage
