The thread’s title is IR/CR but the category it’s been started in is family of permanent residents, who need F2A petitions for spouse/child.  Seems to be leading to some confusion judging by prior few posts, if the title is correct maybe mods can move it to family of USC category.

Hello...are we talking of a USA citizen filling for minor or permanent resident filling for a minor? I thought petition for minors or a resident takes longer than petition of USA citizen.

Are you a USA citizen or resident fillingfor minors?

USA citizen filing for minor. My stepdad is the citizen and I’m the minor he’s petitioning. A USA resident petitioning a minor does indeed take longer.

Did your step dad need to go to the appointment with you ?

Not at all. Usually when you get your appointment letter through email/mail it says who needs to attend the interview.
