Hiya everyone! So this is super random, but I haven't really seen many people who're independently looking after their CR2/IR2 cases/petitions. With a CR2/IR2 being for an unmarried child of a U.S. citizen who is under the age of 21.  As which you would also file a I-130. I was just curious to know if there are people out there like me. Most cases that have a CR2/IR2 involved are usually younger kids whose petition's were sent in along with their parent[parent's]. Usually when I'm having quiet a bit of confusion with the NVC I would always have to primarily look into the CR1/IR1 category which isn't really the same thing as a CR2/IR2 visa. Anyway! If anyone has a similar case to mine please join this discussion! Or if there is someone out there who's having a bit of trouble with their case[cases] join the discussion as well! I've made it as far as to have a CC ( case completed ) and currently waiting for an interview, I'd be more than happy to help in any way that I can. 😊

I’m awaiting interview (already scheduled)and had to rely on CR1/IR1 forum on questions I had and it was an independent petition but thankfully all has gone well so far even done with medicals

That’s awesome! When was your case completed? And for what month/date did you get your interview scheduled for? 😱

That's amazing! Are you super happy, nervous maybe 😀? Also it's crazy that your interview was scheduled so soon. Were you a little scared that your interview might've taken longer to be scheduled? I sure hope I get as lucky as you. I sure hope mine gets scheduled soon as well. 😵

After having 2 RFEs at NVC I was ready to be scheduled lol...but it’s for my son so I’m ready to be with him just worried about language barrier but have asked for interpreter and they agreed so now I’m just ready to buy the flight tickets as soon as he gets his visa....he is 7 years old

My case at the NVC was a nightmare too. I had some AOS documents rejected like 3 times which held me back 4-5 months. Not to mention that the lawyer on my case wasn't any help at all. And then I've been reading that it's taking 5-9 months to get an interview scheduled in Mexico. 😖

I can't say for sure, but I think that they won't ask too many questions in your son's case since it's a CR-2. I had a friend who also went through the same process when he was younger ( less than 15 yrs old at the time ) and he said that they asked like 1 or 2 questions before he got approved right away. I wish you the best of luck! ❤️

Thank you so much for the best wishes and I know it takes long to schedule Mexico...and for my child it’s an IR2 so I’m hoping for a smooth process

Oops! 🤪 You’re right. IR2 and CR2 are slightly different.

My I-130 petition took approximately 10 months to get approved by USCIS. You have been waiting quiet a while now though, I’d say not to get too alarmed. Everything is taking forever these days. But if it were me I’d definitely call USCIS and ask them why it’s taking so long. What if it’s already been approved? There’s a very big chance of that. Goodluck! :)

My son's IR2 cases was approved, however the interview informed us that there was hold from DOS in Washington because a previously  "cancelled without prejudice"  non-immigrant visas we applied. How long does it take for the hold to be removed? Should we contact the US Consult?

Hello! Congratulations on the approvals, yay! 🎈 Have you heard anything regarding the hold? I honestly have no idea when the hold would be removed. Calling the consult is a good idea. Goodluck! :)

Hello...are we talking of a USA citizen filling for minor or permanent resident filling for a minor? I thought petition for minors or a resident takes longer than petition of USA citizen.

Are you a USA citizen or resident fillingfor minors?
