Hi Guys, I received a text this morning that there was an update on my account. up on checking it says there is an RFE issued. Do I need to wait till mail arrives or I can check online what the RFE is for so I can submit ASAP. Also any idea how long it takes for Potomac service Center to get back after we submit RFE proves.  I would really appreciate the help.

It is so nice to hear that Potomac is actually alive and working! Sure was quiet and depressing these days.

I think the safest way to know for sure what RFE you got is to wait for mail unless you got clear instructions in your account online.

Potomac seemed to be so good and so fast (comparing) but things have slowed down so much, so hard and useless to give forecasts I think. We just gotta be patient... 😣

Keep us updated on how things are going with you!

Does USCIS normally informs through text/email or they just sends in via mail?

You're always going to get a piece of mail no matter what. Unless they have your address wrong. If you got your NOA1 then they got it right. The text and email might or might not always happen. I'm on that boat that it never happened even though they got my email and number and the form for e notification.

So you can always count on the USPS giving you a letter from USCIS.

01/28/2019 - Mailed Express Mail USCIS Lockbox Phoenix

01/29/2019 - Received by Phoenix Lockbox
02/04/2019 - Receipt Notice Via Text Message assigned to Nebraska Service Center

Guys... I'm pretty sure Potomac has slowed down. See below. California was notoriously backlogged... They just unloaded a huge pile of I-130s to the other 4 service centers. 3-4 months is probably now 6-8 months unfortunately.

June 11, 2019

We transferred some of the following cases from the California Service Center to the Potomac Service Center, the Texas Service Center, the Nebraska Service Center and the Vermont Service Center.

  • Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for immediate relatives
