UPD. We got NOA2 approved December 13!

Now NVC stage. I wonder how long it will take for our case to be transferred there. Any ideas?

Depends on when they send the next batch of cases, and then once it’s sent it’ll take about 4 weeks for case number

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

So an update - we got a notice for initial evidence and this morning, Monday we got the mail explaining what was needed.

They are asking for 1 passport photo of myself and 1 of the petitioner - however, we did include 2 of each - 2x2 pictures. we can also see them in the pictures of the pack we made and also we got an NOA1

is it possible they screwed up somehow?

Not that we are not turning this around and sending pictures right away but it seems odd this issue would pop up after already getting an NOA1 - or do they not do any checks for NOA1.

Best regards, Matt

Matt

Thank you!
We did celebrate. Half way there!

I am hoping there will be no major delay transferring case to NVC. Will keep everyone updated.

Sorry to hear that USCIS misplaces your pictures. Hopefully this was just a little snag and you will get approved soon.

Cheers!

Julia

Hi,

same here. Mine was sent from Texas service center to NVC on November 15th. I haven't heard back yet too.

According to their page, as of 16-DEC-2019, they were working on cases that were received from USCIS on 15-NOV-2019.

I thought it was going to be easy to get those replacement passport photo's 😕 I sent over the image and he went to CVS just like in the past and apparently CVS will no longer print those passport pictures without me being present... Wonderful.

Anyway, trying another store and another CVS, if that fails he will print them himself or I will have to find a place in the UK that does 2x2 images. It's such a pathetic issue to be having considering we know we sent them to begging with.

Seeing others getting their NOA2 is helping lots, though! I do believe it will be our turn soon.

Wishing you all a wonderful time over the holidays.

Just ask to have photos printed as 2x2. No need to request passport photos. That’s what I did and it also saved 90%!
