Hi people, I was just wondering. What is a NBI clearance because since my wife is also in Philippines, it might concern us too. Thanks!

Once your wife applies for an NBI clearance, a "quicksearch" database makes sure that your wife does not have any pending criminal cases, or runs a check if her name appears in the NBI’s wanted list. If she has no criminal record, then your wife gets cleared, receives the clearance.

NBI is the National Bureau Investigation in the Phils, which concerns for criminal records(if any) of all Filipinos.

NBI clearance is part of the requirement to be presented in the interview process in US EMbassy Manila.
