How far back do you want dig up old old skeletons

Some of these "old skeletons" (Comey, Clapper, Brennan, Hillary, Obama, Strzok, Page) are directly related to the recent attempt to overthrow a legally elected POTUS.

I think that the new Attorney General is sincerely concerned about all this and is awaiting the Inspector General's report in a month or two before proceeding.

I sincerely hope so, either bring in the prosecutors, investigate and charge them, or move on. To continually sit and cry foul for over two years now, honestly, is starting to sound a bit trite.

As an example of a topic that has affected all of us that frequent these fora, this country needs to do a comprehensive review and overhaul of the immigration system and appropriate border protection.  A reminder  that we need to give this area our attention seems to percolate to the forefront quite often. All the hacks and wags inside the Beltway seem to be able to do is beat their chests proclaiming what a great job they are doing at the expense of someone else,  and shout divisive and insulting epithets at each other. We need more "E pluribus unum" action. United we stand, divided we fall.

I agree!  2 years of hearing dems cry "collusion!" & "impeach!" HAS been trite.  Quite foolish, actually.  And yet, even after spending millions on the research and attempt to oust our president, and failing to do so... they STILL say the same things.

It's ok if you prefer to be PC.  I'm old enough to not care if someone doesn't like what I say, as long as I feel I am being honest.

And yes,  there are many bad things on both sides of the political aisle.  I cannot remember a time in my life where I felt like the elected folks were actually doing their best to serve us.

I am not necessarily trying to be PC, just calling it the way I see it. I agree with you about the substandard nonsense our elected officials try to pass off to us as doing work for the citizens of our country.  I think that they are all rotten to the core.  Perhaps Sir John Dalberg-Acton said it best, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."  I just don't see where the tax-paying citizens of this fine republic are being served by the likes of the tweedle-dee party, OR of the tweedle-dum party. Maybe it's time to revisit, implement and enforce term limits for all elected officials inside the Beltway. I keep reading every couple of years where as soon as these charlatans get elected into political office, they can't wait to start their re-election organization. That just isn't right. Maybe we need to limit all of these elected officials to one term in office and no revolving door, of leaving government and then becoming a lavishly paid consultant to the latest newly elected officials.

YMMV

If someone wants to put a handle on me of being PC because of these ideas, so be it.

Realistically we both know that is not going to happen as long as the Senate (the impeachment trial court -per Article I of our Constitution) is controlled by the GOP.  The radical members of the Dem-controlled House can do all of the saber-rattling about it they want, but the leadership doesn't seem to be so enamored with the idea. Of course, that may change.

You mean this same leadership that mere weeks ago were very enamored of the idea? Mad Maxy will still utter it upon her last breath on this earth much like Citizen Kane's "rosebud".

I will repeat this response to any comment whose apparent aim is to continue to throw epithets at this sad state of national affairs where the good operation of our republic has taken second or third stage to this constant state of senseless knee-capping and invective.  This lack of civility is divisive and is poisonous, it is dangerous for our country.

Mueller's report and "lack of smoking gun" conclusions were likely not for lack of culpable evidence, but rather due to the fact that Mueller and his team  likely were driven by the DOJ's Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) long-standing legal opinion that a sitting president should not be Indicted, even if the charges remained sealed. (1)

What Congress tries to do is another matter. The piranhas in the House may taste blood in the water, but Mitch and his antebellum boys would never allow such a vote in the Senate. Humpty-Trumpty should do some serious ingratiating with the GOP senators.

While we fellow Americans should seriously consider letting the Pres with a 37% approval rating, tweet himself off into his last two years in office as a lame duck. For to seriously consider the current Veep as a suitable substitute, may rather be an incarnation of Darth Maul from Star Wars. (2)  A scenario that we should try to avoid for the well-being of our republic.

YMMV.

This is where I disagree with you. What you refer to as stones has been more like boulders being lobbed by a catapult aimed at POTUS and anyone associated with the current administration by the members on the left side of the aisle and their media cohorts.

I do however agree with you about the lack of civility and divisiveness. And yes, I am most definitely pointing fingers aimed directly at the side the most culpable. That doesn't mean I agree with everything coming from the right, far from it.

This constant strident and bellicose divineness that has infected our entire political system has to cease for the good of our country. Neither side is less or more culpable than the other, the hands of the politicos on both sides of the aisle are equally dirty.  This inane and poisonous juvenile behavior by ALL of our elected officials  should not be tolerated by any of us American citizens. I, for one, don't appreciate my tax money being spent on this type of behavior by  ALL of our elected officials. If I wanted to I could likely go to most any playground of an elementary school in the country and witness this type of petty nonsense, I don't appreciate constantly hearing and seeing about it in the evening news.

God bless our republic.
