the envelope with my passport TO montreal says it was received and signed for on the 23rd. if montreal sent it the next day, it would've appeared on the tracking online, eh? when they asked for my passport they said it would be sent out the next day, so i'm just curious. did anyone have an interview around that time- did they send yours? i'm not complaining at this point about the waiting by any means, we've waited a couple years, haha, we both would just feel better once it's finally in the mail. just curious. and antsy  i know USPS didn't update right away but was behind.

In the past when I used Canada post with tracking, sometimes it worked sometimes it did not!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

i'm waiting for mine too.....i had to send some more ppwk into Vancouver and I know they got the envelope from Cda post on the 25th. I have also developed the OCD thing with checking....lmao

When I had my interview in Vancouver, I did not (bang my head) have my fiances original divorce decree (duh), so I obtained a certified copy from the powers that be and sent it off. The Consulate said it would be a 1 day process at their end and then they would send it out. Thank goodness I wrote the express mailer return number down so I could check 50000000 times a day to see if they sent it.

I can't relax either........... :unsure::unsure::unsure:

Oct 1/09 - I-751 package sent

Oct 3 - package delivered

Oct 5 - NOA mailed

Oct 13 - 1st NOA received and additional letters for my daughters I filed with. NOAs stated Resident Status

has been extended for 1 year and that we will be receiving a letter for an ASC appointment for

fingerprints, photo, and signature.

Dec 2009 - Received 10 year permanent resident card.

Feb 2010 - My children received their 10 year permanent resident cards.

Oct 2010 - My children were legally adopted by my USA Citizen husband.

We were both @ the interview, however we had his final divorce certificate, but lady @ the window did not ask to give her this doc.

She just listed doc, and I provided all she asked for, but she did not ask for this cert, neither person who interviewed us.

Now I'm worried they may realize that it is missing in the folder and ask me to resend them.

I thought don't ask/tell anything extra unless it asked by them.

Actually I 129 petion has copy of it, not sure if this is suficient and they will be looking it.

they said you were approved and took your passport though, right? then again, nothing they do ever surprises me anymore (montreal). at our "interview" the lady didn't take over half of our things and didn't look at anything just made up some stuff about me having been there illegally at some point and said we were to leave. but i was never there illegally, lol, and i have no idea where she came up with it, so our lawyer sent more of my papers there again (so she can actually READ them this time) and she took 5 extra weeks, then said fine, approved, send passport, now she's taking her time again. ahhhhh :/

quick edit: she also didn't ask neither of us ONE question about our relationship, lol.

LadyK

I'm thinking if they did not ask for it they must have everything they need. The lady I dealt with had a checklist to go through. I had originals and copies of everything she needed....except for that. You know I wanna kick myself hard for not having it in the first place....... I would think that you are fine.

I think by reading all these posts that the Consulate officer asks different questions to everyone.....depending on the officer I guess. I wish it was all just standard and they had to ask certain questions and that is it. But then what fun would it be??!?!?!!!???

I was given my passports back and had to send them in with the divorce decree. The Consulate officer said everything is in order and they just needed the divorce decree.....so as far as I'm concerned it is approved pending the final processing. It gives me something to worry about is all. I was kinda hoping they would have done it. I guess my case isn't any more a rush than the rest of them. (yup, still feeling sad that I hadn't gotten it right in the first place......urgh!!!)
