That’s great advice. Bring originals of everything. It’s better to be over prepared.

Yes, this is on the appointment letter, bring "original and copy otherwise we might keep the original". At this point in particular the last thing you want is more delays.

@Valmabe I am at fault because I should have brought all my documents with me, they are at fault because they lost my divorce decree papers, but ended up just getting an RFE and already sent in a copy so now just waiting.

Had my interview today in Hartford, CT. For some reason I was expecting it to be at the same office as where the finger prints were taken, but it was downtown at the courthouse. The waiting room was completely full with families, lawyers, translators, etc. We arrived 30 mins early for our appointment and ended up having to wait 45 mins. Our interviewer said appointments later in the day can be tough because sometimes interviews from earlier in the day run over and it screws up the whole schedule (this interview already had a case that was 2 hours today!).

The interview itself was a breeze. My AOS was marriage based so we were asked all the usual questions, how did you meet, when did you meet, what was your first date, where was the proposal, where was the wedding, etc. What is your spouses name, DOB, where did they last live. How long have you been in the US, when did you last enter, etc etc.

I brought updated photos, tax returns, joint bank statements, basically anything that I sent in the original package as evidence of a bonafide marriage I brought updates of and was told that was a smart move.

I honestly got the sense that our interviewer was relieved we weren't English second language and didn't have a lawyer or translator there and they could have just a normal conversation with us. We got chit chatting and the interviewer said if they suspect fraud they will separate the spouses and ask up to 80 questions looking for slipups. If there are incongruencies in the time you first met/first date, the proposal, or the wedding then you are basically toast.

Once we were called in the interview took 25-30 minutes and most of that was just chit chatting. We were told our case was rock solid and the green card would be approved today. Status is now changed to card being produced.

Best of luck to any April filers that are still out there who have not had the interview.

I should add and give a big thanks to the person on the last page who was told to just print their photos on a word document with captions of who was in the photo, where, and when it was taken etc. Our interviewer today was very thankful for that instead of having to fumble through a bunch of printed photos.

Finally, got approved today for the i485.

location: Santa Ana, CA

the interview went very well. We came in an hour early, dropped our appointment notice at the window and had my photo taken and verified identification.

The office who interviewed us was so welcoming. She did ask about everything on the application, ask some couple of questions like how did we meet, when did we meet and then she asked if there's anything i wanted to give her (like updated documents) so i did and brought with us our photo album.. she started looking to it one by one and then she was like can i have some of it and there you go. Approved!

We had our interview today. We (with lawyer) arrived at 9am and wasn’t called until just after 11. We were interviewed by trainee and trainer. It started off with the swearing in and verifying of documents. Then we started going through the the I-485 line by line. It wasn’t robotic at all. We actually talked about how we met and other personal stories and events as we went through the application. It all felt organic. We felt very comfortable and joked back and forth. The interview lasted about 1hr 45. It really felt faster.
It took so long  because we both have previous marriages and my wife had a previous AOS which was throughly discussed.

When the interview was over my lawyer asked if they felt that marriage was bona fide or if we needed to provide further evidence. The trainer said that they felt comfortable with the evidence and they would review documents and we should something over the next couple of days.

All in all, it was a very good interview. My stepsons have their consulate interview next month so the timing has been perfect: We were hoping we both could go down to Ecuador and bring them here. We should have the card in hand before then.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. It really helps. This forum is an excellent tool in the immigration process.

Best of luck to all !

More from Hartford, since apparently we make up most of the April filers still left out in the world lol.

Interview went well; we were called in pretty close to our appointment time of 1:00, and interview was maybe 30 minutes total?

Honestly we didn’t get asked very much at all. I’ll leave one heads up for any other LGBTQ couples out there - we were (both) asked if we’ve ever been with men before, which was certainly not a question I expected (nor do I really know what answer they were searching for).

Case flipped to approved about two hours after the interview. GC is on its way!
