Lol.. So funny!

So I installed that app from the Play Store. How did you find out from within the app the number of April Filers who got RFIE'd?

:) It was coincidence -- I was checking the 300 cases around my number and counted at least 6 RFIEs including me (filed mid-April; there are lots of "Case Was Received" with mid-April dates sprinkled throughout so I'm guessing they were processing that period). I don't think there's a way to check for all April filers... unless you manually count each case which would take forever!

@Vans THANK YOU for this info. Just uploaded and it works great. I was grateful prior for no RFE and even more so after seeing this!

Hopefully, it's something minor for you.

Glad it could be of help! Yeah I'm hoping so. No idea what they could be asking.

I got the letter today for an RFIE for my wife's Birth Certificate, which we submitted with our packet. I wonder why they ask for another copy? Is it possible that they lost her BC? Her BC is not legible, could that be the issue? The thing is, the letter didn't say that her BC is not legible, just said we need to submit her BC....

Is she from England per chance? Was there a translation issue? Does it show both parents clearly?

Update. The RFIE was for a long form birth certificate. Alberta does not issue long form birth certificates so I’m not sure what to do. It says If the document requested doesn’t exist we must submit a letter from the government stating so, no idea how to even go about that.... ugh.

Biometrics appts are based on your local field office availability. You can try calling USCIS to see if they sent you an appointment notice.

Thanks! Yeah I found the Alberta website where I can order one with his parents names listed on it. It’s technically not a long form certificate, but hopefully it will be enough for them.

As a side note, we just went to the DMV to get him a state driver’s license. We brought everything that they needed as was listened online. Yet they told us a) they have to call the state capital to confirm his application status so he can only come in Monday through a Friday (uhh, what?? Our field office is like ten minutes away and has nothing to do with the capital) b) that they can’t issue a driver’s license to someone without an issued green card.

I was pretty sure they could get a license after becoming a resident of the state, which he is now. One of the things I’ve seen people mention to bring to their green card interview is a license... so how will he do that if he can’t get a license without the green card. Should we just go to a different dmv branch? These people were very confused.

My head hurts. Lol.

every state is different.

the NOA1 from AOS was all my husband needed. They did have to send it off to the capital (where DMV is headquartered) to verify the documents. local DMV offices do not have the ability to do that. It only added a couple of hours, by the time we got home, we had an email from the dmv saying 'print this page and bring it with you'.

easy peasy. he didnt even have to take the written or driving test

We brought the NOA1, they said he had to have the green card. Didn’t sound right to me though, I think we will try another branch with the NOA1 letter.
