I went on my appt date. It was for 8 am. After you go through security, go to the right, it's on the 1st floor not 2nd floor. Fill out their paper form and head straight to the line up markers by intake windows. It was #11 on that day. Don't sit and wait in the chairs..lol.

The notice said just bring the notice and ID and proof of citizenship, so that's all we brought (a passport covers both of those), other than a copy of our marriage certificate since she changed her name (which we did need).

 

And the form was just one page of name, physical description (hair color, eye color, height, weight … and there were spaces to fill things in with metric values), previous names, and maybe address and a few other things. Don't remember exactly.

I have a question (a dumb one), do we follow the I-130 or I-485 status updates? And I have three receipt numbers that say "Case was received on April 16th" and the I-485 one says "Fingerprint fee was received on May 7th". What are the anticipated status updates?

The notice said just bring the notice and ID and proof of citizenship, so that's all we brought (a passport covers both of those), other than a copy of our marriage certificate since she changed her name (which we did need).

 

And the form was just one page of name, physical description (hair color, eye color, height, weight … and there were spaces to fill things in with metric values), previous names, and maybe address and a few other things. Don't remember exactly.

 

Thank you dave, although we haven’t changed last name yet I’m hoping I can do that at green card interview I’ll make my wife a copy of marriage certificate and send it with her just in case.

I'd normally say to be mostly guided by the I-485 (though if you're doing AOS from a K-1 you shouldn't have filled out an I-130).
