Hey, how was the appointment? Is it just fingerprints or is there more involved? We received our NOA1 hardcopies in the mail on 4/26 but no word on Biometrics appointment yet.

Well everything went well but since I filed an I485 last year based on my first marriage which I ended up withdrawing I had to meet with the immigration officer on site, they asked me for my divorce decree, notice of name change I filed with court by the time my divorce was granted, and my marriage certificate to confirm new marriage. After that I had my fingerprints taken and that was it. It took me 2 hours from 8AM-10AM.

I am not sure where everyone is at in the process (couldn't read 13 pages of replies), but, we have sent our package on 04/08 and it was delivered to the Chicago Lockbox on 04/09 via FedEx. Since then we haven't received any updates.

I was in similar situation. I sent my package on 04/04 and just heard back about it yesterday (04/29). They sent us a RFE and we saw it yesterday. It was because of filling fees (I did not know about the I-130 $535 fee.. we just sent the biometric and i-485 fee) and also missing tax documentation for I-864. I am getting a new I-20, so actually it was better they sent me my package back to correct the check. I can attach the new I-20 now.

I hope you hear back soon about your case

It can take up to 45 days to hear back from them. You're still within the standard waiting time, along with others who filed during your week. All we can do now is wait.

Posting an Update for anyone who may be, or will be in a similar situation:

we sent our application by FedEx and it was delivered on 4/12 and until today we had heard absolutely nothing from USCIS and we basically been in a mini panic mode over the last week or so. we called multiple times but were told to just keep waiting and be patient because it could take 45 days to hear from Uscis after sending an application.

Today was day 18 of Waiting for acknowledgement from Uscis of our application so we decided to call again.... for the 3rd time.

Today while I was at work my wife called USCIS and they told her that since today was day 15 (business days) since we sent application, they will create a "service request" to look into the package matter and request receipt confirmation from the lockbox office.

They said the service request takes up to 15 days to be responded to and to call again if we don't get a resolution or hear anything within 15 days (May 15th)

Later that night (today at 11:24 pm CT), we got 6 text messages from USCIS with 3 MSC confirmation/receipt numbers telling us that they received our application and that we will receive a letter in the mail. (Check hasn't been cashed YET... but will probably happen soon)

I don't know if this was because of the call we made today or this was already in the pipeline to happen, but we are just glad that we can officially join the AOS train. Hope our experience helps someone.

Best wishes to all in this journey.

Update# 2

Personal check for $1225 taken out of our account this morning.

Also when we looked up the receipt numbers on USCIS website the NOA date for the EAD and AP is 04/12 (day package was received). However the NOA date for the I-485 form is 04/29.

My credit card was charged! It looks like they finally got to the pile of applications from April 12th (I noticed we all had the same delivery day)! I've never been so happy to have a $1200 charge appear on my card... :D
