i94 Expires but did not receieve Extension i539 Receipt

She should leave prior to i94 expiration. There is a reason an i94 expiration is written on a passport. Why dilly dally with it?

She should have timed her visit better.  The date (or approximate date) of the ceremony was known long in advance.

Longer stays past an original i94 has lead CBP to curtail (or in rare cases deny) admission. There are numerous posts on various forums where folks look for answers to their relatives' i94 with less than 180 days admission when they either stayed longer on a previous US 'visit' or returned to the US soon after a previous exit.
