Finally! New card being produced today! Only 1 year and 3 months of waiting. Now onto N400 😵

Congratulations! Nice feeling when that part is done and over with.

Good day all, my case is different. I got divorced with my US citizen wife January 2016 owing to her abusiveness on me, and thereafter via my attorney I filed for Removal of condition on my expired 2 year green card. I have been stuck 5 years now waiting in vain for my 10 years green card. I filed March 2016 for change of condition of Residence and till date never gotten my 10 years. Can I file for my Citizenship without me getting 10 years green card? Each time I ask USCIS they tell me they are still doing background checks. They have told me this same thing 5 years now. Am thinking of going ahead to file for my Citizenship which I think would likely make them open up my case. I think 5 years is way long over due. Any input on this guys? Tnx.

Yes, you can file for citizenship if all the conditions are met even while ROC is still pending.

Does anybody know what the difference is between “Request for ‘Initial’ Evidence Was Sent” and “Request for ‘Additional’ Evidence Was Sent”?

If you get the “Initial” one, does that mean it is likely they send a second RFE?

Is "Initial" usually only for Divorce Decree? And then they send an "Additional" one for more things if needed?

Is it more chance you get an interview when they send you "Initial RFE" and more chance to approve without interview when they send you "Additional RFE"?

Has it ever happened to anyone that they got a "case was approved" notice AFTER getting a "new card is being produced" notice? (I.e., Friday I was told my new card was being produced, and today I was told case was approved - which seems backwards.)

Same thing just happened to us, thought it was strange too..

That's the normal. It's always "card produced" first, and a day later "case approved".

Hi guys,

Do we have to attach the original RFE with our response, or a copy is fine?

Quote: "IMPORTANT: THIS NOTICE CONTAINS YOUR UNIQUE NUMBER. THE ORIGINAL NOTICE MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH THE REQUESTED EVIDENCE."

Can I submit my response with a COPY of the RFE?

Because I am travelling, I had to ask a family member to receive and scan me the notice, so I don't have the physical RFE with me. Can the scanned version work?

Thank you!!

Does anyone know if anything comes in the mail after approval before the card itself? I can see I have something coming from USCIS in my mail today but I was just approved last week and I feel like that's too quick of a turnaround time for the card itself based on what others are saying?

Any petition that USCIS approves results in an approval letter.

Got it! Thanks. You're always so helpful with answering questions (and everyone on this board is!). I'll keep everyone updated as to when I get the actual card in hand so that others can keep track and hopefully find it helpful.
