I-751 April 2019 Filers

Another LIN filer with an update here. My update is that there is no update lol. Case had been received April 16th, and silence since then. I'm sure I'm not the only one in the same boat.

A question at large for the group:

 

There's been some chatter about how using government assistance (Medicaid, etc.) can harm green card and/or citizenship applications. My husband and I live in DC, where homes are prohibitively expensive. However, the local government offers various financial incentive programs to encourage first-time home buyers, such as interest-free loans or down payment assistance. Would applying for this type of program be harmful to Hubby's ROC? We filed at the end of April, did biometrics in early June, and haven't heard any updates since then. I'm wondering whether we should wait for ROC to be approved before applying to any home purchase assistance programs, just to be safe.

 

Anyone with similar experience out there?

I'm under the impression that only federal assistance would potentially be harmful to green card and citizenship applications.

Got a notification that my case was approved!! I think my husband is just good luck!  We got to do DCF before the office field closed (so our original CR-1 only took about 3 months) and now ROC only took about 6 months! lol

 

Next step: N-400!!

What happened? Were you filing with a divorce waiver? What state are you in?

how long is it taking for ppl to get interviews MSC cases status has been waiting for interview since September 4. Is it safe for hubby to travel outside US with extension letter while waiting for interview to be scheduled?

We had our interview today and the the I-751 was approved 😊     The I-751 process took only a little more than 6 months.   The interview lasted  about 5 minutes and the interviewer was very friendly.   We had submitted a lot of proof of our relationship with the petition. I saw in his folder that he hard copies of all of our documentation.     The only further documentation he asked for was whether we brought any photographs with us to the interview, which we did.  He kept two photos, each were photos of us with some of our friends.    His questioning of my wife was pretty much limited to whether she had used another first name or whether she was ever stopped by police here for a traffic incident here or in another state which she said no.   Then he said someone with a similar name and date of birth was involved with  a police incident in another state and he was confirming it was not her.    He asked me my wife's date of birth, how long we are  living at our current address, where I was born and our favorite place to travel.  Right after that he said we are approved and that the permanent residence card would arrive in about 20 days.

Is thats normal process  for my application? 

And what  i should expect next? 

And is it possible to waive my interview or im gonna Definitely interview? 

I sent my i751 at april 7, 2019 waiver .

Never knew NYC could go so fast. On the Processing Time website, the minimum shows more than a year.
