Hi everyone!

I have a question

I sent in my I-751 and it was received April 30th. I got a receipt in the mail stating they received it. They cashed my check May 6th. But I have not heard anything since the receipt letter. I check my case status online and all it says is: My case was received.

How long did it take for you guys? Getting worried since I haven't gotten a biometrics appointment or anything else yet.

Thanks

The processing times for i-751 could be anything between 1 year and 2 years, so you have a long wait ahead of you.

Biometrics can happen at any time, some get the appointment letter after a few weeks, some get it after a few months or even over a year after filing.

So all you need to do is wait.

also can you travel outside of the US? Or not until you do the biometrics and get the extension of green card form?

You can travel with your green card and extension letter. Doesn't matter if you did biometrics yet or not.

Will my wife be required to redo her bio metrics? If she originally did it during the 2 year conditional?

Every process requires new biometrics. AOS -> ROC -> Citizenship or GC Renewal (if you don't want to become a citizen yet and decide to renew your GC every 10 years)

Does your case number start with MSC? Yes it's normal, it means you'll most likely have an interview. It can take months or even years before your interview gets scheduled, so all you can do is wait for that to happen.

Hi, they received my case on April 8th and I received the letter right away but nothing about biometrics yet. My case starts with WAC, what does that mean? Also, I have read that the biometrics appointment can take a long time so I'm not that worried but I am going to Europe for a month in September and I wanted to know what should I do if my biometrics get scheduled for then.

Lastly, I need to renew my driver's license soon. Will the extension letter be enough for the DMV if the green card is expired?

Thanks your the response and good luck with your journeys.

WAC means your service center is California. I haven't received my biometrics appointment yet either, but not too stressed about it. You can reschedule your biometrics appointment if it happens to be scheduled around your Europe trip.

I have my case at the California Service Center as well and have not received my biometrics letter yet, either. I'll be gone for three weeks so I hope I don't receive the letter while I'm gone. From what I understand, sometimes you receive the letter and your appointment is scheduled just a week away. Hopefully, that does not happen in my case.
