My check was deposited by the USCIS today (May 1). No text message yet.

Just received the text message from the USCIS at 8:17 AM. My case number starts with WAC, so I'm at the California Service Center.

Congrats! That's the only sign you need apart from the extension letter itself, not a biggie if they forgot to send you a text or missed the g-1145 form. Seeing that check cashed is a relief!

Same here, WAC it is. Which I guess makes sense since we live just an hour away from that particular service center. Does anyone know if WAC is generally slower or faster than other SCs?

I751 instructions said you must file 90 days before your CGC expires. I sent my husband's package to AZ on 4/23  & his CGC expired on Aug.

I hope you filed an extension.

No, you must file WITHIN the 90 days prior to the greencard expiration, not a day before that 90 day window opens up. You don't have to file 90 days BEFORE your greencard expires.

Without knowing your exact dates, you might have filed too early and they might reject your package for that reason. If his greencard expires in August sometime then you have filed before your 90 day window opened, and will have your package rejected and returned to you.

Must have been some kind of misunderstanding there, you're not supposed to send it in before the 90 days. You wait until your 90 day window opens, then you send the package to make sure it doesn't get delivered before the window has opened up.

Put the greencard expiration date into this calculator and it will tell you what date you can file at the very earliest. https://www.uscis.gov/forms/uscis-early-filing-calculator

USCIS Early Filing Calculator

The information in this part ONLY relates to your time as a permanent resident if you file under Section 319(a) and 316(a) of the INA. You MUST meet all other eligibility requirements when you file.

I believe the calculator only relates to those who submitted N400 for citizenship. My husband is submited I751 petition to remove conditions to receive his 10 year permanent resident card. I hope this is the case.

No, the calculator takes your expiry date and counts 90 days from that date. It's the same for both citizenship and i-751. Both can't be filed before the 90 day window. So you can absolutely use that calculator to find out what date you can file your i-751 at the earliest.

Yes that sounds about right. At least your package will come back to you and all you need to do is resend it on the correct date. No additional work other than that.

I wonder that, too. I'm seeing on a case status app that I downloaded that a lot of the cases around me aren't I-751 petitions. A lot of I-130s.

On the new site, yes. Shows as "case received". Not on the old one.
