Hi everyone,

I received my case number today from NVC.

My timeline / Potomac sc

PD: Nov 30, 2018

NOA2: Mar 07, 2019

Case number received: Apr 18, 2019:)

My question is, can I visit my husband for 2 weeks? (I have ESTA) Thank you

Yes, you can. My wife came for a visit in Dec 2018, while we have all the documents in process.

But it is suggested to bring doc showing you will not overstay during your USA visit, such as current employment letter in Taiwan and paycheck stubs.

My wife was lucky the Custom Officer didn't question anything, but is better bring those documents just in case.

Same. Because of the W2 that the attorney uploaded on the TAX RETURN section, they did not check the rest of the papers so idk now if there will be another problem after 2-3 wks!

Smh at how NVC is reviewing these documents. So stupid! I would be so mad if they only review one of my documents and then the rest later extending this stupid process for a whole month. Hope it will go smoothly for you after resubmitting your w2.

I am really mad! It wasn’t their (NVC) fault actually. It was our lawyer’s fault or her assistant whoever uploaded that W2 where they are asking for TAX RETURN?! Like... why did we even pay them just to delay us? Because for sure if i did it myself I WILL NOT UPLOAD SOMETHING ON A SECTION WHERE IT IS NOT BEING ASKED. Makes me wonder if they are even real lawyers. IMMIGRATION LAWYERS? Even the note she wrote for the HONGKONG POLICE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE because her note doesn’t make any sense! These lawyers are all for $$$$. So incompetent!

I wish i found VJ earlier. ☹️

Omg that's even more stupid! You paid them money to do it yet they can't even do their damn job right. I am mad just reading your post. I hired this agency to do mine and he only uploaded my tax return and i864 and nothing else. Like ???? I had to go in and submitted the other documents on my own. Fingers crossed that everything will be fine for all of us!

Not only that.

1. They gave us a DS 260 form with their logo and asked me to fill it up. When I was done, I sent it to them only to find out that they will type it in our CEAC ACCOUNT and then asked me again to recheck what she typed. I could have done it straight in there! And guess what, all she did was type in the infos I sent and she put infos in there that I dont even know where she got! (Dates and spellings).

2. When I found out about the HK police not sending the original certificate or even a copy of it to me (they send it straight to the embassy), I asked the lawyers on what to do because CEAC IS ASKING US TO UPLOAD but I can’t because HK will not give me. The only thing the lawyer told me is they will call NVC and get back to me. I did all the research about this because I don’t trust them anymore and found out here that you can upload receipt instead of the PC. So, I told the attorney that. And here is her reply, “We called NVC and talked to a supervisor and it seems NVC is not aware of it.” (????!!!!!)

3. They changed the type of Police clearance needed here from Canada since September. I asked them again. Which of the police clearances from Canada shld I be requesting because we have different types/kinds?  THEY DO NOT KNOW!

I did majority of the work here. The only job they did is typing WRONG  and UPLOADING wrong and delaying our process! They didn’t deserve the money. And we are already fully paid!!!

If you don't have a more clearer birth certificate, you can add a second document like a school leaving certificate (check your country specific reciprocity birth certificate requirements on the travel.state.gov website) and upload it along with the birth certificate.

Me too......Another guy from Ghana said that his lawyer mailed the documents to NVC instead of CEAC....They kept waiting and was wondering what was going on with the case. The wife called NVC and found out....smh!
