I guess my problem is that if the same thing happened to him and he has no idea where his information is well, I guess he'd like to know it didn't fall in the hands of some jerkoff, you know? At least I would like to know that for me because I have no idea where my 2006 transcript is.

Oh sure and that is very admirable of you. The good thing for him is that you are not a jerk off,but an honest person concerned about having someone else's tax information.

I ordered my tax transcripts for the past three years. Today I get them and well ####. 2004 and 2005 are there. 2006 is someone else's and mine is not there. IRS is closed until Tuesday. What should I do? Try to call this guy and find out if he has mine or just wait or what?

Did they just send you someone else's transcript, or does this guy have the same SSN as you?

They sent me:

1) My 2004 and 2005 tax transcripts.

2) This other guy's 2006 tax transcript instead of my own. Where is mine? Who knows. Scary.

Our names are completely different and our SSN are completely different, our filing statuses are completely different. The only things that is the same is the year requested.

Wow Wacken, hope this will not be a delay in your process. The best thing is to contact IRS, but you could try to see if the other guy has your taxes.....but if he doesn't and he gets scared you have his??????

I did call and complain and it seems like this happens often enough based on their questions and answers to what to do with the wrong one. So here is a PSA: If you can, have them fax them to you. Don't mess with the mail. I mean, now I look and it didn't just have my SSN on it, but my daughter's also. Great.

I had fraud alerts put on my credit report and we can only hope that creditors pay attention to them if anything does happen. Nightmare.

I would notify IRS Immedietly & you may want to Find out if your Transcripts indeed did get sent to someone else.

If so it would not be a bad idea to monitor your credit cards and bank accounts closely, even making a note to your credit report.
