Im not for sure but they want to make sure the marriage  is terminated legally. The background check might be a little  longer to conduct. Regardless  of the divorce decree.

Gotcha. Ok thank you. At least they still seem to be flying through applications!

Hi,

I have read that if your partner (the sponsor) has a previous marriage that this can slow down the processing when the application is being reviewed. Has anyone else read this or know anything about it?

thanks, Team April!

I don't know how much wait a divorce has on the adjudication of your application. I believe it has to have some influence on processing but you submitted the legal documents so the adjudicator just needs to review the document, compare dates and they are done with it. Here is some additional reading if you want to know what goes into what USCIS is entrusted to do to approve a application.

Hello! We filed on April 19, got a text on April 24, and got the NOA1 in the mail on April 29. We never got an email. Just worries me a bit since he will be out of the country for a few months and it might be a problem if there are urgent concerns that we won't be notified about. I hope everyone's journeys go well!

There is a service provided by the USPS (US Postal Service) whereby each morning USPS will scan your incoming mail (just the address side of the envelope) and email you an update. It's very convenient these days to have advance notice that an important piece of mail is being delivered.

The service is available to most communities but some are still being rolling out so not all areas are available. Check the website with your zip code to verify your location is available for the service. A person in the USA can sign up for this free service here: https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

You can also use the USPS Mobile app available in the Google play store.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Hello,

We sent our I129F package on April 25th via FedEx, it was received on April 26th (Signed by: T.EDWARDS) and last Wednesday our credit card was charged (we used form G-1450). But we still have not received any sort of confirmation / NOA1 from USCIS either by text, email or regular mail (and we did submit Form G-1145 to get updates). I know it's only been 10 days but should I be worried or do anything at this stage since they did cash the money?

2-3 weeks is normal.  Be patient.  This a long process.

hello to all! a question how it can hurt if the petitioner wants to declare bankruptcy for a debt with credit cards. Can you present problems with the visa petition? or what should be done. I appreciate your answers.

i had to declare bankruptcy a few years ago. had zero effect on the petition. all they are concerned about is whether you meet the support requirements to sponsor.

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

Tuve que declararme en bancarrota hace unos años. Tuvo cero efecto en la petición. todo lo que les preocupa es si cumple con los requisitos de soporte para patrocinar.

Thanks you

the VJ estimated NAO2/adjudication of 129F shows as mid-July....does this seem a little fast? I thought it would be a minimum 5 months for the USCIS and was not thinking we would hear anything until Labor Day or after (filed first week of April).

I-129F Processing times as reported by VJ users have dropped a lot since mid-2018, and especially since October. If processing times stay the same or continue to speed up, a mid-July NOA2 from an early April NOA1 is very possible.

However, right now you're not still officially outside normal processing times until it's been ~7.5 months, and there are certainly no guarantees.
