April 15 - Mailed

April 18 - Received at Lockbox

April 23 - NOA1

Yay! Now we wait.

1. Now, what do we do with the receipt number?

2. Does the Visa Journey processing estimation mean that is when we might get our NOA2? ("Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between August 2, 2019 and August 10, 2019*.")

Q1. Nothing. Put in the stack of "stuff" not to be used anything.

Q2. Yes. Just an estimate but there are so many tools to arrive at your NOA2 will be. But for now stay with that timeline predictor.

If you want to try your luck with USCIS's unreliably updated websites, you can set up an account on the new site or use the old site or a 'case tracker' mobile app.

Yes, but keep in mind that it's an estimate, and only an estimate, and there's a lot of variance among cases even if they're superficially similar; back when I filed in May 2018, our petition was approved ~5.5 months which was a little faster than the VJ average at the time (so we beat our VJ estimate by a week), most were done in ~6 months ... and one of the very first posters in the May 2018 thread wasn't approved until this March. If your case takes longer, this does not mean VJ is trying to fool you or there's some kind of systematic error in the data, it just means your case took longer than average.

Thank you for your response!

Ahh, yes. I thought that it would be way longer than August, so I was surprised to see that as the average. Given that, I will give or take a few months!

doubt

Because it is not advisable to request again the same

visa application if the previous one was
 denied?
I'm from the 2nd April I send
April 9 I receive by text message. In November of 2018 they returned my case to immigration and on April 4, 2019 we received the immigration letter with the termination of the previous case. And we re-entered a new k1 application. However, in similar cases, I see that they recommend cr1. And I'm worried about why?

Your being rejected for a reason I dont know as you haven't stated why. CR1 is a Visa that is for married couple. So get married then apply for the CR1 visa.

The reason for the denial of the first case was because we entered the application after two years and five months without seeing each other in person. We have a son together who is already an American citizen. Now we re-entered the k1 application fulfilling the two-year requirement immediately seen in person. We can not marry for lack of papers and time.

i129F package sent today from Paris via FedEx! And now I am freaking out as I realized I mistakenly checked the "Custom Taxes to be paid by Recipient" box - anyone can confirm there are no custom taxes for documents (the FedEx agent told me to put a symbolic 1EUR value)? The package is supposed to arrive tomorrow so I will know soon enough but I am so mad at myself, I was so focused on checking the package for the billionth time...

Some times we over think this process in the hopes we make no mistakes and we achieve our goal of getting a visa. Mistakes on forms is not necessary a disapproval. They have a mechanism in place (RFE) that can rectify those situations. If you start beating yourself up now and you have 8 months go you are going to be a bloody mess. :jest:

Relax, take a deep breath and go with the flow.

Anyone else noticing their NOA2 estimated time creeping slowly forward! That's promising! Ours has moved almost a whole week forward since getting our NOA1.

Where should we check that estimation date??
