Get an early start before you hear from the embassy with these links to information, including the embassy's P3, that will make your life a little less stressful.  Good luck at your interview.  BTW, if you receive a newer version of the P3 from your embassy then the one that I am provided would you share a copy with me so I can keep updated and able to present current information to those who come behind you? Thanks.

Greenbaum, I know your mantra is that every embassy is different but we're running into a situation with Kiev where they're scheduling seems to indicate the next available interview appointment is August 7.

I am wondering if they have their June calendar built out yet or something because August 7 seems ridiculous.  Are you aware of other embassies where the wait time for an interview has been two and a half months???

Unfortunately it's too late to call them now so it will have to be a Monday conversation.

We are sending in our P3 stuff today or tomorrow, dealing with Montreal embassy...from what I have seen on here with others in Canada scheduling their appointments it will be a bit for us as well. At this point I'm figuring that it will be early August for an interview. I just saw yesterday on a timeline that I'm following that they send P4 a few days ago and the interview is scheduled for next week...pretty apparent that each embassy is different.

Ok, I ran some reporting tools for Ukraine petitioners who have had an interview date entered in their timeline.  I went back one year and only found maybe 2 or 3 who had to wait longer than a month (from the time the consulate received the case from the NVC to the reported interview date).

For the aforementioned '2 or 3', these people could have miskeyed their interview date.  Or maybe they got it right but their wait was extended due to personal circumstances.  One was something like a 3 month wait.  I have to think that fell under special circumstances.  Or it was a miskey.  Pretty much all other petitioners had their interview in the 1-3 week timeframe.

Furthermore, I did a search of 2018 spring/summer petitioners (i.e. those people whose cases were received by the consulate in May, June, July and August of 2018) and found similar results so there didn't appear to be a summer staffing issue last year that created longer durations.

I will contact the embassy in Kiev on Monday.  It could be something strange happened like 1/2 the staff played the lottery recently AND WON!  Otherwise, I have to believe the calendar is not fully updated for the month of June and/or July.  Stranger things have happened.

I am in dire need of a life.  🙃

Some people intentionally want to postpone their interview. For example, a forum member who has an identical timeline to mine, wanted to schedule their interview 3 weeks after my interview date, because their fiancé was traveling. This would skew the timeline search, because it wouldn’t reflect the first available interview date.

Can anyone tell me what this means? What action must we take now or do we just wait? It was also my birthday yesterday, June 2 :)

Happy birthday to you fellow Gemini and fellow June 2 ❤️ !

I don't know if it is different for Manilla because I don't have the same advise ( I'm from Belgium). I would wait to receive package 3 to fill in the DS-160 and schedule the medical check and the interview. Next step is for us to receive the Package 3 and follow instructions in it.

Kind regards

Happy Birthday to you as well. I submitted DS-160 already; I probably should have waited but I did ask the embassy about it and they said it is fine because it is good for 6 months, it was all information that we had anyways, nothing that would change between now and instructions. But I will wait for Package 3 as suggested; what was Packages 1 and 2 though? Thanks!

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.

Good points,!I don't know ! I guess this is only how it is called. Or maybe, the petition (I-129F) was considered as first, NVC letter as second and embassy package as third ?

next step is to schedule your medical check and interview once you receive the package 3 I guess then :) I want to enter DS-160 too but I do'n't know I prefer to wait to receive the package. It is probably silly tho

DS-160 can be completed at anytime . The best time is when you receive your case number.

Here is an explanation for P3 and P4.

Packet 3 (P3) is used officially by embassy's to communicate to the beneficiary the required steps and documents to complete the interview.  The P3 letters can be either snail mailed, emailed or found on the website for your embassy. Here are two examples, one for Canada https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf  Another for Thailand's website found here: https://th.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/packets/

Packet 3 is the "Instruction Package" For standard processing consulate's, this is what the embassy sends out when it receives the petition from NVC. Some embassy's require you return packet 3 with DS-160 Part II to request your interview (embassy schedules your interview and then sends you P4*) to be scheduled where others only require you to follow the instructions which includes scheduling your own interview.

If your embassy uses the Packet 4 (P4) is the "Appointment Package" This is the packet that has the interview appointment and the final checklist of what to bring to the interview. Many embassy's only will send you Packet 3 for those who will schedule their own interviews.

Some Embassy's will send you a letter/email that directs you to their website for instructions and do not send a P3 to you as it is located on their website for your use.

*each embassy can be different when using either the P3 or P4 steps.

I can happy say that our case has been on "ready" since this morning and I've also received my package 3 from the US embassy in Vienna, Austria, which is also listed on their website (I just wanted to play it safe :3).

It does seem like that they schedule your interview appointment while you schedule your medical exam, which is interesting since you need to make sure to balance those two out. Of course, it's different for every embassy but I thought I'd share this.

I do have a question though and thought it would be suitable to drop it in here:

What exactly is considered the "letter of invitation"? Is it the checklist which you have to sign with date or is it something else?

I'm asking since it was listed to bring to the medical exam but I'm unsure of which one it is. X3

Thankies so much in advance and wish ya'll good luck~! We are all getting closer and close. <3
