The hardest wait is the final one for the visa to be issued/arrive when all else has been completed ughh...approved 05/23 still showing in CEAC as “ready.” The one drawback to having the interview right before a holiday weekend lol. 😩 I literally have my backpack with change of clothes already in my car just waiting for the K1 to arrive so I can fly over and accompany my fiancée here 😂

Hello All, @Greenbaum,

Does anyone know what the requirements are for a beneficiary and his child to attend the K1 visa interview?

Or does anyone have any experience or know anyone that has attended an interview with a child.

Pls let me know if there's a forum or group on this platform that can help.

Thanks

It's better to start with your questions and then we either can answer or refer you somewhere else. I have 2 K2s.

I just want to know how to prepare my fiance's child for the interview interns of documents needed, and e.t.c

Also will it complicate my fiance's Visa if he goes to the interview with his child

I will give you links below to review what is needed for the K-1 interview. Everything you need, your child is required also and they need to complete the medical. You will have to use common sense when reviewing the requirements as of course he/she won't need a marriage certificate or a divorce certificate from a prior marriage. You'll complete a DS-160 for them. You will schedule the medical age appropriate. You'll schedule your interview and when you complete yours it will ask are there others and you will answer yes and then they will ask about the K2 information. You will pay your fee and the child's fee. The child must attend the interview. You could start visiting your country's thread and speak with others about specifics concerning Nigeria. See the VJ Thread link below. Good luck.

Scheduling the interview can take 1 to 3 months. Once you pay the $265 visa fee at GTB Bank, you can go online to schedule an appointment at www.ustraveldocs.com You can get the forms online at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html No need to go to the consulate to pick up forms. Download forms if unexpired or get current versions of same forms. Email LagosIV@state.gov for your interview date.

Tuesday and Wednesday of this week are big days for some as your case file may ship out to your embassy. Check CEAC for updated progress and look for "in transit"!! If that shows you are on your way. Shipments are throughout Tuesday and Wednesday so don't get discourage if your record at CEAC has not changed over to "in transit” until Wednesday late.

NOTE: The DHL hack information will not be available till Wednesday as the DHL and NVC computers must sync with each other to produce the outcome.

You have three stages 1) transit - shipment is in the air or soon will be, 2) received - physical case file is at the Embassy and 3) ready - your case is ready to schedule and complete your interview.  These will be your current state or status to your case file once you have received the case number. Once your record is set to "ready" you are ready to proceed in processing your next steps as listed in your P3 for your embassy.  I have most P3 if you hit me up with a request, I will post back the links.

Please don't screenshot and post your CEAC status as it just clutters up the thread. We all know what it looks like. Let us know your progress as we want to celebrate with you. Good luck.

Also, for those who want to have a little fun in tracking your shipment see the DHL hack on the first page of this thread NUMBER 19 in the instructions.

 Tracking your case file that's in transit to your Embassy. Go to http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html on this page you add your search information. You change the day and month to what you think your package might have left NVC or call NVC to get the date your package had left NVC in route to your Embassy then go to the DHL website and enter the following information:

NOTE: It will take 24 hours before the shipment will show any results using this hack. DHL and NVC will need time to update their systems.

EXAMPLE:

* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A (This is the date you think it left NVC, just substitute the date and leave everything else as is)

* Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011

* Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011

Account Number - Leave this blank

Shipment Destination: Philippines (Works for any country Just replace your country where the Embassy is located using the drop down box).

Sign up for SMS tracking alerts on the DHL website.   Once you find your waybill, check for the "sign up for shipment notifications". When there are any changes to the shipment you will get a SMS message to your phone. How awesome is that!

I hope these tips help you along your Journey. So, let’s share our experiences, our tips and ask questions.

We received our NOA2 Approval on 04/26/2019. It came quickly; one of many blessings counted. I have not yet received any correspondence from NVC. First instruction of original post is to update NVC with email etc. although I am hesitant because nowhere in the approval notice does it say to do that. It does say however to contact NVC within 30 days (of what?) by email with the same information if we have not received any correspondence from NVC. Should I contact NVC now or wait a few more days for the mail or update my email on the site linked in Step 1 of original post? Thanks in advance.

Hi!! We also received our NOA2 on May 26 2019. We're the same date of approval and I am also from the Philippines. 😂 I and my fiance called the NVC and they provided us our Case # and Invoice #. You can also call them so you can check at CEAC what is the current status.

If the status still shows "at NVC" lets wait till Wednesday maybe it will be in transit on thay date. 🙏🙏🙏

The items in the first post are experiences of myself and others. It's about 5 years of helping people get through this process without any problems.  You can choose to ignore the information because you don't trust it, but you will lag behind most others in getting your visa. Just saying. All your questions are answered with the first post.
