Oh wise @Greenbaum, I’d appreciate some timeline advice please!

I got an email from NVC today advising they’ve received our petition, providing the case number and advising that they will now forward the petition to the London embassy.

Checked the CEAC status and it shows as ‘in transit’.

I want to update my timeline on here accurately - but it asks for the date NVC received the petition, the date they assigned the number and the date they shipped the petition...I haven’t called the NVC, just waited for the email, so don’t know the different dates, so am thinking I’ll just put today’s date for all three...? Is it likely they’d do it all on the same day? I don’t want to skew the stats!

Thanks

The NVC letter I received via email has my middle name spelt with a missing Y; my middle name has been spelt correctly everywhere else on the NOA2, DS-160 etc I assume that the NVC letter won’t cause an issue?

In transit to Montreal today!!!

When I tried the DHL hack the other day for the April 30th shipment it showed 4 cases being sent to MTL and the trip there only took 1 day...so if there are any other fellow US/Canadian petitioners in this shipment that gives you a little info.

@Greenbaum I was curious if you knew a little about the interview scheduling. I was wondering if when we go to schedule the interview, if they give you a date that you have to stick with, or if you can choose a different date at that time before scheduling it. I am curious to know this because I have to work around my work schedule so that I am able to attend the interview with her.

It’s most likely they received it 1.5-2 weeks after your NOA2 date based on others in this thread. So go for 2 weeks. As for case number assigned, probably 3-4 business days after the received date :)

You will have the option to choose dates and reschedule if need be.

Ok...so our case is also showing   "In transit"  whohooo!   Can someone tell me what I/we need to do in order to call and schedule the Interview and Medical?  I know we should wait for the packet3/4 info.  Will we need to send the DS-160 and pay the interview fees before they will book the interview?  I understand in Bogota they want your interview date in order to schedule the Medical exams?  Or if this is already explained somewhere else....please point me to the thread...Thnx

im looking for same answer too

You have to wait for your case to be shipped to the appropriate consulate/embassy. Then you will get your P3 packet which details doing your DS-160, getting your confirmation code from that, scanning and e-mailing the embassy. They will then send you P-4 info that gives you instructions on scheduling your medical and interview.

When e-mailing the embassy your packet 3, did you just send a copy of the checklist checked off and signed? Or did you also have to include all documents on the checklist with the email.

Those stats are skewed already. though we want you to be a accurate as you can so put what you know or close to it. If you get any updated information then go back in and rework your timeline. Your then good to go.

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.

I bet that the answer is somewhere in this information including one of the links. Hint: it's in BOLD text. Psssst. no mention of documents.

You can't hurry it along at all. You have to wait for P3 which takes 2-4 weeks from Ready. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterwards.

Packet 3: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf  And Packet 4 for reference also: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/03/Packet4-MTL.pdf

For all things dealing with the US Consulate in Canada head on over to the sub-forum for Canada where they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

Birth Certificate and Police Certificate information

Here is some additional information. As was stated in the Canadian sub-forum there is an "emergency order" application in Ontario. You need the birth cert that is CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH REGISTRATION that has the parents name. You don't want the "parental cert" that is a wallet sized one with parents names but no place of birth, doctors who attended birth etc. The parental one is for parents travelling with kids to prove custody in an easy to use/travel with format. Hope this clears up your question. CALL the registrar and tell them you need to do an emergency application otherwise you will be waiting 15+ weeks. Absolutely the long form is a required LIVE document needed at the interview or you'll get rejected.  I hope this info is helpful and best of luck.

In case you're doing the medical in Vancouver: Dr. Cheema requires you to schedule the interview first in order to book the medical.

Pssst. You want the Case Number begin with three letters followed by 10 digits. That's what you use. Also, complete the DS-160 before scheduling your interview as some embassy's are requiring the number from the DS-160 confirmation page.

BONUS - BONUS - BONUS Instructions for you to review and begin to gather documents and follow directions listed in the information. BTW the last link is to a thread where others from your country are meeting and chatting about what needs to be done to secure a visa from your country. COOL BEANS GREENBAUM!

1. Completed Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. You (and any eligible children applying for K-2 visas) must: (1) complete Form DS-160 and (2) print the DS-160 confirmation page to bring to your interview.

  • A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the U.S. (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).
  • Divorce or death certificate(s) of any previous spouse(s) for both you and the U.S. citizen sponsor
  • Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for six months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)
  • Medical examination (vaccinations are optional, see below)
  • Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, may be requested)
  • Two (2) 2x2 photographs. See the required photo format explained in Photograph Requirements
  • Evidence of relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e)
  • Payment of fees, as explained below

Note: The consular officer may ask for additional information, such as photographs and other proof that the relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is genuine. Documents in foreign languages, other than the language of the country in which the application takes place, should be translated. Applicants should take to the visa interview clear, legible photocopies of civil documents and translations, such as birth and divorce certificates. Original documents and translations will be returned.

These are only the basic items. Please check with your Embassy Instructions for further requirements. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/list-of-posts-k1-k3-visas.html
