Absolutely. Once your case reaches NVC you gotta call them after atleast 10 days for your case number. Once you do get it you can check your status on CEAC to see how your case is moving.

Thanks a lot for your respond. So can I file ds160, pay the visa fee first , and wait still receive pkt3 from HCM consular , after that book the interview ?

The DS - 160 is a document that stands alone. It does not affect anything. You can't use it to find any information about your case. You can't use it for anything other than for its original intent and that is for the CO to use during your interview to adjudicate your case. It does not need to be finished at the moment you receive your case number or to do anything else but needs to be completed for the interview and it can be completed between case number issuance to the day before your interview.

Here is some information including the Embassy P3 for you to get a head start

P3 Letter

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GXiJXlEPZhqwUSFDpkcviyJNbw2BoXDn/view?usp=sharing

https://vn.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/40/K-Instruction-Package.pdf

Usually you will not receive the P3 letter in the mail. Do an online service request. They will respond typically in 2 -3 days with the instruction (P3). You will need to submit D-160 and pay the visa fee, then schedule the medical afterward. Technically, you will need the P3 to complete the medical exam, although some have gotten by with just the interview confirmation. I wouldn't risk it and would just request that they email it to you via: https://vn.usembassy...a-inquiry-form/  When using the form be sure to add in the comments section the last 4 digits of your SSN or they will email you back asking for it which causes further delays.

Thank you so much

I updated my email address but haven't heard from them yet, my NOA 2 was 04/10/19

Some have received email notification and others have not. Be patient. You'll hear something soon. Lately we have seen 3-4 weeks from USCIS to NVC and 1-2 weeks to assign the case number and then depending where you fall in the shipment cycle can be another 2 weeks. YMMV.

NVC number is required to access your current status on CEAC. Follow the instructions from the first post on the first page of this thread. Lots of tips there to use for this stage.

I wonder, is it necessary to schedule the interview in advance? Or it varies from country?

56 minutes ago, Dee & Will said:

Everyone says you gotta wait till CEAC status shows “Ready” as it indicates your case has reached your embassy. But some people go ahead and schedule it before that anyway. Since most dates are usually 2 months away so. I guess it depends 🤷🏻‍♀️

Most embassies will allow you to book your interview once you have received your case number from NVC and paid your interview fee. There are few embassy's that do not allow you to get ahead. Two that come to mind is China and Canada. I advise you to join your sub-forum here on VJ so that you will have "boots on the ground" answers to your questions. Staying here and asking questions about what to do at the interview scheduling stage is not wise as most here are like you, trying to get their arms around their requirements. To find your sub-forum  Go up to the blue ribbon, select forums, then scroll down 3/4 of the page and find your sub-forum. Begin asking questions of others who are going through the same embassy as you. Someone from Germany, Spain or Syria is not going to know what you should do next because each embassy has different requirements. Have you been to your embassy's website to see what is next for your visa type?

Hello guys, please anyone have any idea about my case.

i got:

noa1: 11/28/2018

noa2: 03/28/2019

Relax. Your case is moving along and is NORMAL. There is no need to call NVC over and over about your case. Once you have your case number you are now in control and can track your case via CEAC. CEAC is pretty much going to be up to date and will change with every step. So THERE is where you need to be and not on the phone. Oy Vey!

Your case is currently at NVC. Next step is that they ship it out and next shipment is 5/14 and 5/15 where you will most likely be on. On 5/14 go back to CEAC and watch your status change from "at NVC" to "in transit". DON'T call NVC if you don't see your case status change as the status is updated throughout BOTH days. Again, did I happen to mention stay off the phone? :D OMG relax and take a deep breath. Your case is progressing as it should.

By calling. Use the first post on the first page of this thread to know what to do to get your case number.

Hello!! May I ask if how did you know if NVC already received your case? Did NVC will send e-mail or mail to the petitioner or to the beneficiary?

Thank you so much.

When you receive your NOA2 your case will be heading to NVC and usually takes about 3-4 weeks. Then NVC will receive it and assign a case number. That will take about 5-10 business days. When that time has pass then you should call NVC but it's a waste of time if you call earlier then that timetable.

Do I need to call the NVC to update my email address with them?

Read the first post on the first page of this thread where you will find instructions to update your email address.

The PSA in the Philippines is notorious for misspellings and missing information on birth certificates. You should look over your BC to make sure everything is correct as well as your passport. Now is the time to get that corrected. You might want to get a copy of your NBI to see if there are any problems with it. Again, now is a better time to get it corrected if you find something wrong. Be sure to use all your AKA's when they do the search. Make sure your passport doesn't expire any time before a year from now as this is a long process and you could be running around getting a new one at the last minute. So get it renewed if it is expiring in 2019.

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

@Miki1995  Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in ."Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

I just wanted to express how much I appreciate your support. Thank you for all your advices . 😀👍😌

I’m worry a lot about my case because of in our HCM K1 visa group have a couples wait for case ready 4 months now. They were called NVC a lot but they did not said anything about that. Actually they are worrying something happens with their case ( at her application from Dec/2017 still now , also need RFE before got the Noa2) .

Some people got approvals before me 2 days (03/26) case ready on 04 /30. That’s why it makes me think that why only me get ready so long like that. But now I no need to worry more about that , everything let it be naturally . Anyway , thanks a lot @Greenbaum 🙏😄.

Good morning everyone,

Called NVC, they received our case on May 3rd, but still no case number yet. Should I wait a few days and call again for a case number or just let it run it’s course?
