Case is in transit to the embassy and should arrive tomorrow. I have my medical exam on Wednesday, and my interview on the 17th!

I'm so excited!! For anyone in the UK - there's lots of availability for interviews in May so don't worry!

Thanks for the update :) good luck for it all! I received my NVC case number yesterday! Did you wait to receive your police check before you booked your medical? I paid for quick processing of mine so should be here in the next few days but just wondering whether I should wait for this before I book the medical but bearing in mind I need to wait til after the 14/15th shipment until I can have the medical when hopefully my case will be in transit to London!!!

So here's the things I can tell you that /should/ apply to you (your mileage may vary).

  • You are correct, your case should be shipped out to the UK Embassy on either the 14th or 15th of May.
  • Knightsbridge will ask you if you have your Police Certificate in your possession - but you can always claim you have it and book the medical far out enough that you'll have it with you, you ideally should give a week between medical date and interview date, so this shouldn't impact you much anyway - you can always call up and have it moved if you haven't received it yet :)

I have read that we can schedule the interview in brazil prior to getting an email.   At what NVC stage can you schedule the interview?    We are currently:  AT NVC.    When trying to schedule the interview, the system states:  Case number is not ready to schedule an interview.

Or should I just try to schedule daily?

Do you have a case number assigned from NVC? And when was it assigned? Date?

Thank you.   My NVC received date:  4/24 and NVC Case Number issues is 4/29.   DS160 submitted and waiting on step to pay fees and schedule interview.    When linking the NVC Case number with DS160, I get the error:   Case Number is not ready for an appointment.    Current CEAC status:  AT NVC.      I read that we should be able to schedule the interview sooner than receiving any email or mail from NVC or Consulate to get the earliest possible interview date.   So I was wondering if anyone knew what status allows you to actually pay fees and schedule.

Just an update, got our NVC case # assigned today.

I went to the CEAC website right away to check the status and it tells me "Invalid Application ID or Case Number.".

Guess I will have to call them back again tomorrow to check if the person on the phone gave me the right case #. She did ask for my fiancés email address so that it can be entered into the system.

I would definitely call. NVC emailed me the wrong case number and I had to call to get the right one.

Still hoping today our case will be shipped out to the embassy!
