Just got my case number too! Hopefully this means we all get sent out in the next batch to the embassies.

It's not confirmed but those who have been approved after Wednesday of the week before shipments are not included in the next shipment (4/30 & 5/1). Don't lose hope wait until Tuesday and visit https://ceac.state.gov/ceacStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=stLgYJNY3SVNSD63kBq4ow and enter "immigrant" and your case number for updated status on your file.

If you haven't already, please see the first page of the thread, first post for additional tips.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Good Morning,

My NOA1 is 01/07 - California Service Center. Waiting for NOA2 patiently and it looks like process is fast in our favor.

Should I expect  NOA2 notice by email first ? I know I filled form G-1145 with my email and cell number on it. am I supposed to follow up anything at this stage?

Our NOA1 was 1/17 and received NOA2 on 4/19...also California service center. Try going here https://www.uscis.gov/tools  that was where I got my first notification of NOA2 and paper copy arrived in the mail 3 days later.

Are you referring to NOA2 approval? Mine was last Friday and I was assuming it would get shipped to NVC in the next shipment.

No, case number assignment from NVC. Because the case file is shipped from NVC to the embassy. You'll probably be on this next shipment it's those that have their case assignments today and forward not that you called today and got a case number. It's based on when the case number was assigned. Nothing has been confirmed but this is what we have been able to deduce using 6 months of history.

Gotcha, thank you. Not that I'm in panic mode or anything, this is all moving a bit faster than we thought anyhow, I'm just trying to plan on when is the best time to gather my financial stuff for him to take on the embassy trip.

Here is a nugget of information: You can't hurry it along at all. You have to wait for P3 which takes 2-4 weeks from Ready. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterwards.

When was the case number assigned will determine if you make the shipment. Not when you called. Of course, your mileage may vary.

I called yesterday AM and it wasn't ready, I forgot to ask.

But I believe yesterday evening or this morning

Then I agree with your statement "Tuesday and Wednesday or not". Don't loose hope as we are only speculating on what we have seen and with NVC things can change in a heartbeat.

Call daily as you never know when they assign your number might be as soon  as you hang up. Just my opinion. Should be forthcoming any day now.

Sarge...you are absolutely correct again!!!  I called this morning the 0888 number and a guy named Josh picked up the call in less than 1minute. I asked if I could check to see if they received our case yet and gave him the receipt number.  He said yes, we received yesterday April 24th but give us a couple days to assign a case number. He suggested I should call back anytime but give us a few days to process.  Very nice guy!
