When calling the NVC, how long have you all typically waited on hold? Even calling right at 9am I have not had luck getting through quickly. When I called at 9am on Friday I gave up after 40 minutes or so.

They temporarily changed hours for customer service to 9am

Yes they have but it was done after I posted this page and there is no way of me going in and correcting. But thanks for the heads up.

BTW, there is a better way to reply to a post that is so long as the one you quoted.

There is a box on the very bottom that says "reply to this topic" where you can start your post to someone using the "@" sign without quoting a topic. If you just want to post something to an individual without a quote then use the "@" sign then begin typing, in the box at the end of the page, their nick name will populate to a little window that you can choose their nik. Good luck and I hope this helps navigate the thread and posts in a much easier way.

Before the change the hours you were able to get right in if calling right at opening hours 7 am then. Now that they have gone to 9 am the wait is much longer. It's been reported that the later evening hours work best.

I find that when I call “6033340888” I’ve only been on hold for maybe 10 minutes at the most. I’ve called a couple times around 7:30am(I’m in California). And I’ve called once or twice around 2/3ish and have not had a long wait(again, no more than 10 min.) and was able to get confirmation that they have received my case. Whenever I attempted to call the other number I could never get through!

Hope this helps!

Hi, I'm about to move so my PHYSICAL address (the beneficiary) won't be correct anymore. My mailing address will still be the same. What do I need to do?

1.  The beneficiary must file form AR-11.   As for the USC (petitioner), read below from the USCIS website:

U.S. Citizens

U.S. citizens are not required to file a Form AR-11 and can make a change of address on pending cases via our Online Change of Address page or by calling 1-800-375-5283. For TTY (deaf or hard of hearing) call: 1-800-767-1833. U.S. Citizens who do not have an application or petition pending with USCIS are only legally required to notify USCIS of a change of address if they have previously submitted a Form I-864 on behalf of someone who has become a permanent resident. If you have previously submitted a Form I-864 for someone who immigrated to the U.S., you must complete a Form I-865 within thirty days of the completion of your move.

2.  You submit the AR-11 online---once it is submitted you will receive immediate confirmation that the address change has been accepted by USCIS.  You do not have to do anything else as far as the AR-11 is concerned regarding your pending applications.  If need be, the USC files the I-865 form.

Use the 603-334-0888 number I found that it's usually less of a wait.

So I just file AR-11 as the beneficiary, and then that’s it?

I’m still in the UK, but I will do this anyway.

I trust you, but the USCIS AR-11 website (https://www.uscis.gov/addresschange) doesn't say anything about I-129F. Do I still file this? We are waiting for our case number from the NVC still

USCIS is the "parent" recipient of your file. Throughout the coming years you will be submitting numerus other documents like AOS for 2 year, 10 year GC and naturalization to USCIS. So they are the main contact. The state that the address change must take place within 10 days of moving. I can only reply with what I have used or that others have used. Your mileage may vary.

Most non-U.S. citizens must report a change of address within 10 days of moving within the United States or its territories. Exceptions include: blah blah blah

I was on hold for 45 minutes before getting through. I called around noon their time as being overseas and with the time difference, I couldn't call in the morning as advised. I just let it ring and went on doing other stuff while waiting. It might seems like a while but just be patient. You will get through!!! Good luck!

Hello! my Fiance just called NVC because its passed 2 weeks and we haven't received anything from them...

1st call (i don't know which number he used): there were no options asked, it was quick and it ended quickly he wasn't able to speak.

2nd call: he waited a bit but as soon as the agent picked up the call, the line got cut.

3rd call: the call went through and he was able to talk to an agent and told him that they just got the case and there is no assigned case yet.

Ready your receipt number when calling because that's what they're asking in order to check your case.
