Well, you had to tell them where you traveled anyway on your application, and if it was after you applied you still have to tell them at the interview where you traveled and for how long since you turned in the app. You just have to honestly tell them why you did that if they ask for a reason. As long as you were present in the U.S. for the amount of time required, then there shouldn't be an issue. If a person isn't doing anything illegal or exceeding the time allowed outside the country, they have no issue with a person travelling.

Folks - update on my interview today.

Wife and I reached about 15 minutes early. After security check, while we were checking in, the officer was already waiting for us at 7:50 AM. I followed one of themand my wife went with the other officer. Took about 10-15 minutes for each of us to finish the interview process.

- Office asked for GC, ID and passports, took index finger scan, picture and checked basic information - name, address, phone number, current and previous employer, how long I worked for sponsoring (previous) employer etc.

- I had listed several travels to Canada, India and one to Mexico. She asked me about my Canada travels if any of them were under 24 hours.

- While she was asking about my travels out of country, I informed her that I have traveled 3 times after applying. She asked if any of the travels were longer than 6 months (none of them)

- Asked 6 civics questions (only remember 5)

1. Name of the war between north and south

2. Longest river

3. Why did colonists fight the British

4. Who did US fight in WW2

5. Capital of my state

- Asked to read "How many Senators are there" and asked to write "There are 100 Senators" on the iPad

- Went through Yes/No questions

- Asked me to sign declarations

- Approved and told me that I will receive Oath ceremony notice in mail

Pretty much the same for my wife. Apparently, there was a mistake on her n-400 form. She had written 0 for # of marriages spouse (me) have had...should have been 1. Officer corrected it and asked her to sign for the correction.

Thank you to this community for all the support. Good luck to everyone still in the process...

Hi,

I have a question for all who had Interview already.

Did you bring your Passport with you for the interview so IO can see where did you go out of USA and how many times?

Yes. The officer asked for for passports and looked at every on of them (I had 3 passports with me). However, she did not flip through to see entry/exit stamps if that's what you are asking. I think she looked at them to verify those passports with the records they have...took her about 30 seconds to look at them them and check whatever she wanted to.

Yes you need your passport!

You can travel just be ready to answer the question - how many times have you traveled outside the US in last three years and to what countries. Then he followed up with what were the reasons! Just be honest! I could not remember all the dates from three years but I was able to list last year or two in detail and he was fine with that

also congrats @Vikingoutwest

Dear all,

As of today, my N400 case (filed in may 2019 under 3 year rule) status has been changed to testing and interview. I am waiting for the mail to confirm the interview date. However, my i751 (filed in May 2018, transferred to NBC in June 2019) is still pending. Is there anything I can do to make sure I will have the combo interview?

any advice would be much appreciated! I apologize for posting in this thread, the April filers are way more active than the May ones, lol

Thank you!!!

Eli

I have a question for the citizenship test!

for ex. questions like:

Q)what did the emancipation proclamation do?

A) -freed the slaves

    -freed slaves in the confederacy

     .

     .

this question has 4 total answers. For questions with multiple answers, do I have to memorize all of them? 😅
