I don't imagine the newly updated estimated completion times mean much, as my estimated completion time used to be April 2020. But now, it is August 2019 which basically suggests that all of it will be done within the next six weeks. However, the estimated wait time for the next action does not show any date, but states "We are taking unusually longer times to process applications".

I take all of this with a grain of salt as I don't even have a scheduled interview in hand. Just for the record, my filing date is April 09,2019. My biometrics date was May 01, 2019. And my field office is Greer, South Carolina.

Thank you!

My estimated wait time is 9 days? Anyone else?

Don't know what that means.

It means they estimate 9 days until the next action on your case. Hopefully that is correct in your case - the estimates are often inaccurate. Crossing fingers you hear something soon:-)

Thank you! Estimated completion is September so that makes sense.

Omg omg omg they have just scheduled my interview!!!! I’m already so nervous... yikes! I haven’t been following this thread since I had no updates but the time has come, folks.

question for those who have already gone and successfully passed the interview (congrats, btw!!!) : how do they ask you to review what was put in the application, like, do they ask you “when did you work for such company?” “how long have you been living at your current address?”

I’m wondering if I’ll have to memorize all the info I put on there or if an estimate for such dates  would suffice.

many thanks!

Meet your newest US Citizen :)

So this is a TL of events that took place today, I like details so I am going to try and be as detailed as possible..

- my interview was supposed to be at 8:10am

- got there at 7:55am had to wait 5mins for them to open the doors

- 8:40 am my interviewer called my name

  • I swore in, she asked for my green card
  • she took my fingerprints (left and right index finger)
  • then she made me answer questions from application (full name, DOB, spouse full name, spouse DOB, address, date of marriage, when did you become a permanent resident, places you’ve traveled outside the US ((this made me super nervous because I did not remember the exact dates)), where do you work, places you’ve lived and so on..
  • then she moved on to the yes or no questions from my application (have you ever committed a crime? been a habitual drunkard...)

- Then she started with the test, no warning what so ever, my questions were:

  • what does the president cabinet do
  • who is in charge of the executive branch
  • what is the name of the vice president
  • what is the economic system of the United States
  • who is the commander and chief of the military
  • what did the declaration of independence do?

- read: who was George Washington

- write: Washington was the first president

- then I had to sign the tablet twice saying that everything is true & check that all my information was correct

- she gave me a sheet saying she was recommending me for approval (YAY)

- she then asked if I wanted to be scheduled for the oath ceremony in August or September or I could do it today, I opted to do it today of course!! so she asked me to have a seat in the waiting room by that time it was 8:57am.

9:05 am - while waiting my status changed online to "case was submitted for quality review based on an approval recommendation"

9:20am - I was called to the counter, she took my green card and asked questions about "since your interview have you committed any crimes, got divorced, traveled outside the country and so on..."  the officer was like you haven't done any of these things in the last ten minutes? we both laughed

  •  I completed my oath ceremony, was given my certificate, a mini flag and a package :)  before I got to my car my status changed online to "certificate of naturalization was issued"

All in all I am so happy to be done with this process. Good luck to everyone. If anyone has any questions let me know.

Hi everyone. I just check my account and they said Estimated wait time is 28 days. What does that mean? I don’t even have my interview schedule yet! :(

I wouldn't sweat it- hopefully it means that you'll get an update on your case soon, but it could go either way. When I myself log in, I'm still given "estimated wait time: 5/6 months" and I just got a notification today saying my interview has been scheduled. So I wouldn't focus too much on the estimate they give you. Either way I hope you'll hear from them soon. Good luck! 😄

I am curious to know what documents do you need to carry for Naturalization interview ( 3 year green card) ?

I just got this update today. Though they only list the three docs, my guess is a lot of the applicants provide additional evidence to support their case. I plan on having a copy of all the docs I submitted online when I first filed my application, and a few originals too, such as my marriage certificate.
