Got a text notification this morning that my case was updated :)However, the new website still says "We reviewed your biometrics" I'm sure it will update at some point. My estimated completion dates is Dec 2019 (7months) so this is exciting.

Great news for those who already have interviews scheduled after applying in April 2019.

But sad for those of us who will be left waiting around for another year or more solely because of where we live in the USA.

It's such a screwed up system that leaves people at the mercy of their local field office.

CITIZENSHIP TIMELINE

4/2019: Submitted N400

5/2019: Biometrics (3 weeks)

2/2020: Interview (10 months)

3/2020: Oath & naturalization (11 months)

6/2020: Passport received (3 months)

The wait hopefully won't be as long as the estimations that are coming up online... the estimate it shows for me online is 10 months, but when I check similar cases for my field office (Chicago) the average is 7 months. Compared to the wait for ROC we just went through 7-10 months is nothing! :)

I think that is the case in many field offices, but in NYC the estimates are realistic. People wait about 1 year to get an interview in this office. It's atrocious that people have to wait so long. Other places were people wait an eternity include St. Paul and Dallas. Why should people be disadvantaged simply because of where they live? It's a federal benefit and a federal agency - there should not be regional differences in how quickly/slowly people are granted citizenship after becoming eligible.

I 100% agree with you, there needs to be consistency across the board no matter where you live.

What I don't understand is why, at an organizational level, there has seemingly be no effort to make that happen. Maybe the attitude is that we should be grateful to have the opportunity to become citizens and accept whatever conditions are placed in front of us along the way, including absurdly long wait times? The other way to look at is is that we pay taxes like everyone else and have met criteria under the LAW to be eligible for a citizenship, so why are we being forced to wait and wait and wait?

Just wondering if anyone is still pending for their ROC, I just don't understand why it takes that long... I'm a bit worried because people have to have their naturalization interview postponed because their ROC case file didn't make it to the field office in time for interview 🤦‍♀️

09/26/19 - Oath Ceremony

09/11/19 - Naturalization Interview
05/23/19 - Biometrics appt

05/04/19 - Biometrics rvcd

05/01/19 - Case accepted

05/01/19 - Submitted online

ROC Timeline (Total time - 13.5 months):

06/25/19 - New card being produced

03/26/19 - Transfer Notice (to non-local service center)

06/21/18 - Biometrics appt
06/11/18 - Biometrics rvcd

Pretty sure if you apply for naturalization before ROC is adjudicated they get combined and the ROC is no longer in the queue for solo approval.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I meant by the time it's the naturalization interview, the ROC case file is still at another location, then you won't be able to have the combo interview done...

Oh, I see what you mean. I've only heard of that happening once here, but I guess it's more likely if you get moved to the interview process more quickly.
