Yeah, it does look like your service center is on the slower side 😕 In any case, 12 months is a whole lot better than 21! Crossing fingers for you 🙂

Thanks!  Put it to the back of my mind, and wait to see....thats all we can do.

Went in for my biometrics today, now the website says expected case completion in 6 months, wait time 6 months. Weird, there was no wait time before, is that supposed to mean wait time to the next step?

It's good to know that you are almost done with the entire process. If I had an estimated processing time as yours (6 months), I will be thinking about interview. Your field office, Boston, is taking 3-4 months in scheduling N-400 interview. Watch out for interview letter in June or late July.

So to answer your question, it will take 6 months to process your N400 including up to oath ceremony. Please be aware, that the estimated time isn't accurate based on visajourney's members data received here.

I was just able to log in to USCIS.....checked on my case that I filed last night......it says estimated completion January 2020 (21 months)....WHAT!!!! Really??????  Is this just a date they throw in there until I get my Biometerics done?

@NovaSprings, do yourself a favor and ignore USCIS' estimated processing time. Don't think about. Watch movies, enjoy life with family and friends. Trust me, you will end up thanking me later if you do.

Howbeit, data has proven that ELIS estimated processing/completion time isn't accurate. I bought tequila when I saw my estimated completion time. Now I have a backup (tequila) if my memory is running out of space through thinking about USCIS' estimated completion time 🤣😂😂🤣

Prediction, all those who have estimated completion time of 4,5, and 6 months will probably get inline for interview or interview scheduled notifications within 2-3 months from now; mostly after biometric is reviewed and cleared.

However, those with longer estimated processing time like myself, sometimes do get lucky and are placed in queue for interview if their background checks cleared and local field office has availability for interview slot.

Hi,

Can someone help me answer this?

1. I have been married to a USC for about 6 years now, and I have my GC. I am planning to file n400 online this week. In the eligibility section questions, what should I choose, filing based on 5 year, or filing based on 3 yr married to a USC?

Not sure by choosing either, if it'll ask me for more or less documents.

2. What documents are required? So I can start gathering them.

3. Selective service: I was in US on F1 visa between Age 18 to 25. Do I select No to that question?

Thanks.

Hi @Numii

1. I have been married to my US citizen spouse since 2004 - been in the states on green card since summer 2010. I just filed my n400 on 4/23 and I chose 5year eligibility. It is my impression that if you have been in the states legally for 5years then that is the rule you should apply under. I could be making a mistake though - so I would check plenty of sources before you decide!

2. This is where you can find relevant info, there is a link to a document checklist on the right hand side of the page https://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship/citizenship-through-naturalization

3. I can't help you on this one - I am female and have not needed to look into the selective service issue

Good luck on your application! When you do apply, please come share your timeline experiences 🙂

@Vikingoutwest, thanks for the input.

@Numii, before I answer question number 1, I will like to know how you got your green card. Is it through marriage? And secondly how long you have had it for?

My answer for question number 2 depends on your response for question number 1

Here is my answer for question number 3 because I do have "Selective Service Information Status Letter".

**This was my situation below**

USCIS officers:

Immigrant Men 31 and Older - In accordance with U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service (USCIS) Policy Manual - Volume 12 - Part D - Chapter 7, applicants for naturalization who are over age 31 are eligible for naturalization even if they knowingly and willfully failed to register. This is because the applicant's failure to register would be outside of the statutory period during which the applicant must show that he is of good moral character and disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States. Thus a man's failure to register with Selective Service does not make him ineligible for naturalization because he is age 31 or older. Also, since an immigrant who is age 31 or older remains eligible for naturalization even if he knowingly and willfully failed to register, he should not be asked to get a "Status Information Letter" from Selective Service.

@Numii, this one below falls in your situation. You were not required to register for Selective Service if you didn't. Non immigrants are exempted. All you need is a "Status Information Letter". I will show you how to get one.

Non-U.S. male on a valid non-immigrant visa
For example, if the man entered the United States as an F-1 student visa and remained in that status until his 26th birthday, he would need to provide documentation indicating that he was admitted on an F-1 visa and attended school full-time as required.  A complete list of acceptable documentation for exemption may be found Selective Service website.

Before biometrics there was expected case completion November 2019 (7 months) amd estimated wait time: 30 days. It was 17 days yesterday and today after I my Biometrics it updated to " expected case completion October 2019 (6 months) / Estimated wait time 6 months.

so this wait time probably does mean how long until the next update (interview)

I just got that same email! The website says they have scheduled biometrics - but I can't see when it is. I still don't have my receipt letter, and when I click on the notice on the website it shows "500 Error". I guess I just have to wait for the physical letter. But YAY we are scheduled 🙂
