My Wait time shows 5 months and estimated case completion says June 2020. But it’ll show we are taking longer than expected when it reaches the estimated time In June 2020 apparently. I have heard from other ND filers that the average wait time for interview for ND is 12-15 months. I waited for 8 months and looks like I’m only half way there. Hope it moves faster by some miracle. I am getting tired of traveling back and forth from US to Canada. Long distance after getting married is not cool.

Hi any updates for you?

01/14/2020 - filed N400 Miami FL

01/18/2020 - NOA Biometric scheduled

02/05/2020 - Biometrics done

03/13/2020 - Interview scheduled - canceled due Covid19

08/19/2020 - Interview

08/27/2020 - OATH Ceremony MIAMI FL

Done with USCIS  !!!! Good luck everyone!

I finished my interview today. It was combo interview. Everything went pretty smooth except I couldn’t change my name. The IO told me they can’t change name through uscis now. I need to go through court and ask for new naturalization certificates again later.
It took around 30 mins in total.
Note:- take all evidence papers,  (your wife and kids if you have )if your i751 is pending. Because they go one by one interview.)

good luck to all who are waiting for interview .

Hi any updates for you?

@Giovanna024 No update yet. I am not even expecting one anytime soon. As per other ND applicants, I might be waiting for another 8 months for interview (17 months wait for interview) even though my online status shows June 2020 as estimated completion date.

I hope so too. Yes I still go back and forth. Since I have remote job, I stay in Canada with my husband and come back to US only because I have to maintain physical presence until N400 gets approved. Can’t wait for this process to finish so that I can sponsor my husband.

Just to clarify - I think I'm correct in saying this - the "physical presence" piece is completed (it's a condition of eligibility) by the time you submit the application...what you are maintaining during this waiting period is "continuous residence" which must be maintained up until naturalization

CITIZENSHIP TIMELINE

4/2019: Submitted N400

5/2019: Biometrics (3 weeks)

2/2020: Interview (10 months)

3/2020: Oath & naturalization (11 months)

6/2020: Passport received (3 months)

Officially a U.S. Citizen!

@N400NYC You are right. It’s continuous residence. I applied for N400 after physical presence requirement was met.

good luck to all who are waiting for interview .

I’m planning to change my name the day of my Interview. It’s not a big deal for me if I cant But I read That (I’m in New Jersey) Newark office (my office) does oath the same day of interview and its one of the few that you can change your name the same day.

is this “ no change the name at USCIS a nationwide thing or is because your office doesn’t have a court as the naturalizations place?

thank you!

Yesterday marked my 120 days after my combo interview.

Today I received a letter from USCIS for a 2nd interview and I must accompany with my husband.
The 2nd interview is on Feb 5 (less than 10 business days from a notice date).
My husband is in Florida for military order and can’t fly back again to go with me this interview (he went with me the first one even they didn’t request him on the paper).

Now I am very frustrated as we gave all what we have during the interview (but the officer didn’t review at all) and they still requested more this time.
I’m waiting for my lawyer to come to their office early next week and check if I can go by myself without my husband.
Why they make thing so complicated right now?
