Approved but all documents given to us

Hi All,

 

My husband had his interview last week and was approved. But one thing I realized, is all of the documents were given back to us. aren't we supposed to receive them in a sealed envelope to give the officer when we enter the country?

yes they did. and we did get the approved letter with instructions on how to pay for the visa/greencard.

No sealed packet given at the interview.  Your husband will get the sealed packet along with the passport with visa.  Note that some embassies are sending electronic packets directly to DHS now, so you may not get a sealed packet at all.  Not sure if that's the case for Cairo.

Got it, but what I meant is mailed to us not the day of the interview. what documents are in the envelope because they returned everything (original) back to us. They didnt keep anything. Obviously they have access via the CEAC site, which we uploaded everything to.

Assuming they're doing it electronically, they don't need the originals...

Sorry, doing what electronically? And what do they put in the envelope?

Hey There!  Congrats on your approval.  Cairo no longer sends you a seal envelope.

You will pick up your passport with the Visa inside at the Aramex office you choose for pick up.  I suggest downloading the APP.  So you can track your passport and know when its available for pick up.  They send you a text when ready.

In your packet will be your passport with your visa, and instructions on exactly how to pay the Green Card Fee.

All of your information is now online so they have no need to send your paperwork in a seal envelope anymore for the Cairo Embassy
