Ok, so when we have the "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" it basically means that the case is still at the NBC? I really thought that if someone gets this update the case is already at the field office...

* from what I have read here on VJ*, yes, that is correct (that the case is already at the field office). However it * seems* to all be anecdotal...don't know if USCIS has ever confirmed it.

I think that is correct. I had called them because my status updated out of order (it updated to "case is ready to be scheduled" and then "fingerprint review was completed") and I wanted to make sure that my case is indeed at the local field office (which would be the case if it was ready to be scheduled) and they confirmed that it is and hence, that that status means that it's at the LFO.

Oh, that's really good to know! It means there is some hope we will get our interview appointment shortly! My field office timeline is at least 14,5 months but if it's already here maybe we will have our interview during the fall!

Thank you so much for the detailed information AOSFairfax. If you have any good news, please share with me. Hope we all can get interview soon. 🙏

Hey there! I came across this VJ tool:

https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aoslist.php?cfl=0&op1=2&op2=&op3=&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,9,10,11&op6=&op8=Washington DC&xfr=&vtype=0&interview=

based on that, it looks like as of March our DC field office was having interviews for late August / early September filers, which gives you a better idea of processing times. Empirically, it seems that Dec - Feb are USCIS' less busy months which hopefully means they are starting to catch up on cases. Fingers crossed that means we'll get our interview around late summer / early fall then? but who knows lol

Thanks! I just checked my field office and there are some people who filed last August and September and they had their interview in 6 months!

I'm having a depressing day today but this tool definitely made me a bit happier!

Hopefully our local field office can catch up the case and speed up our interviews. Anyway I do have one question for you. My wife and I will move to different apartment in the end of July but we will still live within Fairfax County. Do you think the changing address will delay my processing time?

Based on the VJ people, it does... most of them are complaining about this address change delay thing because when you change you address in the online system it will be updated 30 days later 😓😓

That would suck if that’s the case.. I would’ve thought that since the field office doesn’t change it doesn’t really make a difference? No clue though

Virginia

I'm in SoCal. We also wanted to move to a new apartment by the fall because we hate to live in this complex but I told my husband that let's sing another 6 months lease because of the AOS. I saw that on the September and October thread many people were complaining about the address change made their case slower...
