Hey guys!

This thread is being quiet. 53 days today since the NOA1.

Almost all of us here had the "ready to be scheduled" update. Any update since then? Nothing for me.

I asked at least 2 times in the other March thread what are the expedite requirements because I think way too many people are getting their interview from there, but all the people are ignoring my question. I wonder why 😂

No updates here either...

In terms of the expedite requirements, here are the official criteria: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria

I tried doing some research into it - that's the only "official" information and there's no other guidelines I could find so anyone who applies for an expedite kind of has to wing it. From other VJ threads, it seems that having an job offer letter is the way to go to apply for an EAD expedite

I know the official criteria, I did the research as well.

I was just a little bit sarcastic since they keep saying that they didn't file expedite.

Btw, yesterday I checked on the Case Tracker app the last 500 behind me and only about 3% of the filers are getting their interview dates.

Agh I just want my EAD... I would be happy with it...

Congrats on your Interview date! Florida is fast, that is what I know for sure. I have 2 friends there who actually didn't file expedite and they had their interview in less than 3 months!

Thank you!! Yeah, it's crazy how fast everything has come along. I did not file for expedite either, so I was very surprised. My local field office processing time, according to USCIS, is 9-22 months; however, from what I have seen on the visajourney AOS timelines stats, ~3-4 months seems to be the norm for Tampa filers https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aoslist.php?vtype=&op8=Tampa+FL&interview=&xfr=&op1=d&op2=&op3=&op4=1&op5=5%2C6%2C8%2C9%2C10%2C11&cfl=

Let me tell you a very weird thing. I have a friend and she lives in LA. She and her husband NOA1 date are December 31st, 2018. They got an RFIE because of the transcript, they needed to send it to the USCIS but she NEVER got a Biometrics appointment. She called the USCIS about 4 times but the representative was not helpful. 2 weeks ago I read on the November thread you need to ask for Tier2 if you want to talk to a real person. So I called her and she made a phone call immediately. The Tier2 lady on the phone said it's a USCIS error so she rescheduled her Biometrics to May 2nd BUT here comes the funny part: last Monday she got an EAD approval letter !!!! Without a Biometrics!!! She didn't receive the card yet obviously because she hasn't done the biometrics yet, but she got approved!! Also, she got her SSN card (she is overstayed so she never had it before) with the sentence on the card that says: "Valid for work only with DHS authorization".

My question is HOW DID SHE GOT APPROVED ON THE EAD WITHOUT BIOMETRICS? As I said, she doesn't have the card yet, but she got approved.

Btw, I saw the approval letter, so I know it's true!!!

That is very weird, I honestly am extremely sure it 100% depends on WHO is looking over your case. So, my only assumption is she happened to talk to the right Tier 2 lady. Luck seems to play a massive role on this process.

On another note, I also have a SS card (from an internship I did as part of my bachelors) that says the same thing, and they didn't take my biometrics for that one, either. However, I couldn't just go and apply to any job I wanted with that SS card, I had to do it through the international office at my school. I never thought AOS filers get the "valid for work only with DHS auth." card. I would be careful, it could be a mistake on their part and they erronously sent her the card...who knows? Everybody's process seems to be so different. I just ran a report on the app and there's few people around my case number that have the Case is Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview. Most of them have Fingerprints Reviewed or even just Case Received. At that point, our files are not at our local offices yet, they're all at the NBC, so technically it should take the same amount of time for everyone. Same with EAD/AP as that is overseen by NBC and not local office

My case is ready to be scheduled for an interview since April 8th. I had the biometrics on April 2nd. I ran a scan yesterday too and I saw that not too many people have this kind of update. Most of them have just the "case was received" and the "fingerprint was received" update only.

I told my friend too that it is extremely weird that the USCIS missed to send her the biometrics appointment letter plus she got approved on her EAD without the Biometrics.

I asked a few of my acquaintances who went through the AOS procedure and they didn't have this kind of SSN card either. I thought only F1 visas get it... I told her to make a phone call to the Tier2 representative and ask if it's an error again but she doesn't want to. She is afraid that the USCIS will slow more down her case.
