Please help me with these questions I have regarding filling out the I-485 AOS form, any assistance is much appreciated, thanks.

1. Our attorney has listed we should submit G-325As with I-485 yet on the USCIS instructions it says "Form G-325A, Biographic Information is no longer required. " Should we just ignore the attorney?

2. We got married on Thursday yay I'm now a Mrs & have taken my husband's name, do I fill in these forms & sign with my new/married name?

3. USCIS online account number(not the same as an A-number) -where do I find USCIS online account number?

4. Affidavit of support form I-864, we submitted this as part of the visa application, are we to resubmit it here?

Thanks.

G325a is no longer needed (it’s been a while) so if your attorney still wants it, shows that they’re not really up to date with requirements... what else will they mess up? Keep an eye out

use your married name on forms if that’s what you want going forward. Don’t forget to attach a simple copy of the marriage certificate for proof of name change

you probably don’t have a online account number as you’re a k1 entrant. Leave it blank or put n/a

you probably used i134 before. And even if used for the k1 part, you’ll need to send new and updated info for the i864.

No, you should get a new lawyer. G325a's have not been used with I485 since April 2017.

Yes.

Unless you filed for an immigration benefit online before, you wont have a USCIS online account number.

You submitted an I134 as part of your K1 Visa application. An I864 is for AOS. You need to meet 125% of the poverty guidelines this time and you will provide CURRENT financial supporting documents.

Thanks.

A tip-- Think of your AOS/EAD/AP as a brand new process. New name, married, new country, new address, unemployed, etc. The visa part is over. New people are looking at your greencard application. Give them all fresh info and don't assume they should know something or have something because you sent it before.

It's a new day Mrs! 😄
