Sure, higher risk is just that. For X and Y linked genetic changes, it's not absolute by any means. People in there 20's have lower risk, but still happens to them. Age of either parent tends to increase risks but even father's in their 70's and 80's have children without any genetic issues.

And what guy in his right mind wants to father a child in his 50's, 60's, or even later?

I was thinking if I met a girl who wanted to have her first child and I wanted a legacy I would consider getting her pregnant in my 50's or 60's.

I have a friend who was 50 ish.

Now normally husband is older than wife so if you have women in their 40's quite plausible to have men in their 50's.

I was about 49 wife about 36 when married. We discussed kids. I did not want to be 70 with a kid in college. Not fair to me or kid

Older men with younger wives, with young kids common in the the American Filipina circles

Not for me, and was a factor in my international dating experience.

I already have two legacies.

Similar here.  I was about 46 and wife about 37 when we married.

I know a guy who just got married for the first time last year.  He is 62.  Has a sweet wife, but I am still wondering... why bother with marriage now?  Why get the gubmint involved in your personal life this late in the game?

Another couple, to go along with the above stories... he was 58 when he fathered the first of two kids.  Wife was 21 or 22, not sure exactly.

My dad was 51 when my half sister was born. He was done with kids, we were all in our 20's already, but his new wife really wanted a child. She was somewhere in her 30's and never had one. Just like a lot of the examples we have seen posted here. They were both in good health and financially well off so they decided to go for it. It does happen.

Personally I would be worried about being in my 70's with a kid in college like NB said. Or possibly not even being here at all. I think the biggest thing is how much time kids take to raise though. With my kids getting older, I am just starting to get back some of the free time I used to have. After all the years of having to check with the wife and make sure the kids were accounted for before I could get any thing done, it's kind of nice to have that time back. I'm getting used to it now. I like kids, but no more kids for me. Grand kids will be pretty soon. That's good enough.

I wonder how many splits there are in the Feminism industry, the most obvious one is between those who think Trannies are women and those who do not.

And then we had the split last year in the Woman's March, that seem to cover various different factions.

Isn't it easier for women to do the splits than for men?

Does seem so.
