Hi there, I am new to the Visa Journey page.

I started my application in Sept 2017 and just got my Immigrant Case creation (what I assume you all refer to as CC) in July 2019.

Since this time, I have become "Documentarily Qualified" in October 2019.

Can I be added to the private group message as well?

Also - I need to confirm some things that I need for the interview - Do I need to bring all originals of both my husband's documents as well as mine?

Thank you

I did a mistake, changed embassy from Mumbai, India to Montreal, Canada. My sis with same priority date and DQ got stamped the Visa.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to these forums. Can I be added to this group? Our CC was Nov 18 2019. Awaiting interview in Montreal for IR-1. Does anyone have an idea of current interview waittimes? Thank you!

I have to admit I do not know who created/owns this doc but I found it in the threads.  It will give you the sad truth to set your expectations.  On a positive note, it does seem that the trend is getting better the last few months...

Thank you for sharing this. And yes it is definitely sad how long the wait times are.
Good luck to everyone. As unfortunate as it is, I'm glad to hear we were not the only ones mislead by our attorney, who had told us that this entire process from I-130 submission until the end would be 6-8 months....it has been over a year since we applied and we still have not received an interview date.

Wow, this is really helpful to know. I hope accurate as well.

Does anyone know  much regarding the documents to show for the interview? I am hoping to get my documents sorted so when I finally get my interview, there are no delays caused by improper documents. That seems to be common.

Specifically police certificates - When do you need a police certificate when you have lived in a previous country? I was 15 when I left my birth country - do I need a police certificate from there? Also, do they really need the police certificate issued within 12 months of the interview date? I went to grad school in the UK and got a police certificate when I left (around 2017) I haven't been back there since then, so I don't know if I can submit that certificate. Can anyone help?

Hi TOtoVA,

Everything can be found here for your specific question (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-5-collect-supporting-documents.html)

From this you do not need one from your birth country because you were under the age of 16.  Police certificates need to be within 12 months of your interview date but the below explains why you would not need a new UK one (Just make sure the one you have meets the criteria from the country specific info they give at the above website).  For example many have reported here that they got the wrong police certificate for Canada, the website is quite clear.

Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

  • You are more than 16 years old;
  • The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and
  • You still live in the country that issued the certificate.
