Hey everybody! Hoping to receive our approval soon for our K1 visa!!

I have been trying to come up with a fun, creative way to live stream my wedding ceremony for my fiances family to watch! It sucks that they will not be able to join us, but I would still like them to be apart of the ceremony.

Has anyone ever done something like this before or have any suggestions on what would work best? I know there's always facebook live... I'm just not sure I want it to be that public

I was married in Colombia and several family members from the US came to the wedding. One brother held an Apple I-pad and live streamed it to other relatives via the Facetime application, including to my parents in the US and a sister in France. The downside to this method is everyone has to have Apple devices, assuming Apple has not made an android or PC compatible Facetime app. It seemed that those who connected to the live stream appreciated it. Congratulations and good luck!

I thought about that too. Unfortunately, I think most of my fiance's family has Android.  I would love to have some kind of website you could log into. But I think I'm making things too complicated for myself lol

I would encourage you to search for options outside of Facebook and I believe your security concerns are valid. Do you use Whatsapp? That works on android phones and devices. It's sort of amazing that we got married 5 years ago and we were able to do it easily.

yea i believe WhatsApp is a secure chat app you could use..its better than fb live or fb messenger.. some people who dont have/like privacy use fb live its creepy that people in whole world see everything when whats matter is your spouse family.

congratulations on your wedding.

Thank you! I'm trying to find the best way to include everyone. My fiance and I worked on cruise ships. So not only do we have his family in India, but we have friends from all over the world that we would like to have the option to "be apart" of everything! Which is why I'm having such a hard time figuring this out haha. Plus I'm not that tech. savvy, so I would like to make things easy for everyone.

I had planned on doing a YouTube live steam (available for only those who had the link) up until we found out my now husband's mother would be working during the wedding time. I was just going to ask one of my cousins to use the YouTube app on my phone to do it.

We ended up using our private family Instagram account to make a live video. It notified any followers on the account that we were going live so people wouldn't miss it. One of our guests (an AFS student from Germany staying with my parents that weekend) did the honors of making sure the video was rolling. My older sister in Spain and my Italian sister both watched from there. They were able to comment live on the video and after the ceremony when my younger sister took back control of her phone we were able to say hi to them. My cousin recorded the wedding on my mom's phone which we sent to my husband's parents and my grandparents since my grandpa was not feeling very well that day. It was nice to have both: one to have our loved ones far away be part of the experience, and the other to have as a nicer quality video to watch anytime.
