Yes RFE at about 18months! It might surprise you that there are some people who file as early as Feb and March 2017 still pending! It all depends on the complexity of your case and the pace of the officer handling it! Again you're right about tge c31 category..it will be giving to you upon approval of your Vawa! I had a c9 then because my spouse had filed for me before I petitioned for Vawa! To know more about if you can get the c9 at this stage talk to @sandranj I've alerted her here..she will respond. The c9 is the work document/permit you receive as a spouse to a USC if a i485 was filed based on marriage to your spouse.

I see, got you. I understand now the difference.  I never filed the marriage based petition ever, directly VAWA.

I've read lots of information here..and sometimes it can get overwhelming..in a good way though..kind of like an exposion of information..I am sure I've read that you can still get that category or so..but be patient someone who is quite sure or better still the attorney I've alerted will point you in the best direction! @sandranj

Hello to you all, Happy new month!

I filled I-360 on November 2017 and got a mail today to submit RFE of Good moral character.   

My question is 1- My embassy couldn't provide this service here and I couldn't go and bring that from back home. from your experience do you have an idea how to make this work?                         

2- affidavit of good moral character I submitted 3 affidavits from families and friends & church letter for good moral character and personal affidavit. What else shall I write as personal affidavit?

How long does it take to get approval of the I360 after i submit the RFE?

Bonafide marriage prove goes beyond phone conversations, you need joint documents, both names listed Bills, Bank account , Credit cards in both names, Drive licenses in the same address, photos, if you don't have much prove notarized affidavits from friends, neighbors that know you both and know the you guys were in a relationship: Like my apartment lease was under my mother's name  but in the lease agreement she add me and my husband in the additional occupant page, and she also made an Notarized letter staging from what time to what time we lived in the same apartment. Those little details prove bonified

Lol..sandra is the only attorney here..but thanks though. How long were you here before you filed vawa? You need to get police clearance from your location..also if you are here less than 3yrs before filing..you will need police clearance from your location prior to moving into the U.S...don't know if this makes sense or helps!

yeah everybody knows that, but thanks for sharing. i was just wondering if i can also submit transcriptions from phone calls to prove bonafide marriage

In my case I asked family members to help me make the application..and a search was done as they said frim their archives that found me free of any crime or delinquent! They sent a police clearance attesting to that fact. It worked for me!

I was one of those cases that was not asked for good moral character,  I had been waiting for the rfe so when I saw a notification I knew that was it. But on opening it said my case had been approved.  It took me 14 months for the approval. No pf at all. I had my work authorization too. And when the one I had was going to expire I got an extension of 180 days. Then I filed for a new ead and got it in 2 months. And now just waiting on the interview
