Thank you for the response. Do you happen to know if the shelters will house you for a long time until you get approved?

I don't know, but i think they can have you in as long as you can't stand by your feet.... Seek help if you need it.. When did you submit your vawa case?

I have a question for those who are still waiting for a result and doesn't have any EAD yet, how do you support yourself without work? My resources are depleting and all my friends chipped in already,  I am looking to having an approval after 22 months (that's the max it said) while waiting how do you survive? Especially to those with kids and decided to leave the abusive husband.

I've read about how a lot of people here were able to get assistance using their prima facie.. So you should be fine dear! And also the fact that you have kids too might move it along real smoothly! Gather all input so far and get it moving!

I totally understand your situation even though I've never been in that space..most folks with a prima facie determination use the benefits listed therein! I hope the folks who have actually used them come across your post so they can tell you how to go about it! Better still you can ask @sandranj the attorney on the forum..she has been of immense help to all. Goodluck dear.

Thank you for your kind words.

It is okay. I will try to ask around. I submitted it Dec 2018. I have prima facie and done with biometrics. So far that's all that's done.

Just curious, how long did you wait?

Quick answer; Forever!😂😂 ok now don't let that scare you..Mine was really a long wait! It took 2yrs to get an approval! The good part was that in all that time I could work because I had a c9 category ead..so I didn't feel the wait that much..of course I was always anxious to get it approved. It is important to note that my wait time has absolutely nothing with your impending wait time..(when did you file though?) There are folks who got approved in 14, 15, 16 etc months of waiting! I had an RFE at 18months..or so..coupled with delay from my attorney even when all evidence were ready..so yeah all that contributed to my long wait!

An RFE at 18mos? :( :( :( if u don't mind what RFE they requested? Also I didn't know all about the c31 and c9 because I filed on my own last December 2018 and have all fees waived.  I filed under c31 because that was my understanding if u file vawa it should be c31. From what I understand with c9 u get ead while waiting for 1360 approval. What is a c9 really? Should I have filed it under c9? My husband is a USC.

That’s a good question. I have a child. I am living with my husband. I don’t have EAD to get a job. My family has been supporting me.
