Okay thank you very much..really appreciate your reply..I will suggest this to my attorney right away..but I do hv another question..I and my wife stayed in Vegas for almost a month..that's where we got married and I received my socials before we moved back to our main address in newyork..according to the RFE for good moral behavior I need a certificate of good conduct in places I lived for the past 3yrs..even though I did my newyork police report do I need to go to Vegas and obtain the police report as well?

You don't need the police clearance from Vegas because you lived there for less than 6 months.

Good morning visa journey family, please i need help on this, i am March 2018 filer, haven't heard anything from USCIS but the regular messages of WE ARE STILL REVIEWING YOUR CASE every two weeks. I stayed out of my home country for 6 years b4 moving to the united states, in case i am being asked for good moral character, am i suppose to bring it from my home country and the country i lived in for 6yrs b4 moving to the USA. Please any body with an idea should let me know. God bless us all.

You need police clearance from your Country just if you are living in the U.S for less than 3 years.

Hi Sandra he said he was in another country for 6yrs before moving to the U.S..it wasn't in his home country. So my reasoning is that he needs to bring the report from the country he was residing prior to entry into the U.S.. But I see you said he should bring from his home country...

I don’t know, she said it’s better to withdraw and file for a new one, since I never got the interview notice letter. Do you maybe know what would be the “reopen” notice be? Or how can I find out what was in the notice? @sandranj

It was a stupid idea to withdraw tho. As I mentioned before we don't know why the USCIS is reopening an old I-485 but usually, the message is " "After review, we have opened the above application or petition, or reconsidered the decision previously issued. You will receive a notice under separate cover once all action has been completed".

Will the receipt number for the I-485 filed with ex spouse remain the same after being held until VAWA adjudication or will they issue a new case number so the abuser cannot check the status of the I-485? If I would get scheduled for an interview after VAWA approval, would it still show online under the same receipt number from the I-485 filed with abuser? Thanks for your responses.

Hi I guess it's safer to quote my own case/situation. Receipt number remains the same! It doesn't matter who go checks..your strong point is that nobody can influence your case henceforth! It's almost like the cliche "you can see but you can't touch!" LOL... The moment you filed for vawa your petition is protected..my point? You do not have anything to worry about dear.

Hi..I've enquired about this in the past too..and was told that you can divorce you spouse anytime..as you can file for vawa up to two years after you severe the relationship! So I think there's no right time..you actually can do it now but then it's what I've read and being told. There might be other opinions.

Thank you

My experience, My lawyer called and send a letter to USCIS and request for them not to send any email or text notification to my petitioner due to Treats and harassment  and an I360 being pending. when my pending i485 interview was scheduled last week USCIS sent an I485 Update to my husband but they email and text him a different information but the i485 receipt number was the same he forward the email to me. the notification said We have Rejected your I765 application filled in 2017. we have sent you the notice with an explanation.... but when i took a close look it was the same receipt number.  I found out about this because he called me screening and saying why USICS keep sending notifications when our case is done and his not doing nothing for me... I told him maybe was a mistake and i hang up (we still have limited communications about our children's and it was made by the family court).... Receipt never change.

@sandranj Hello house,I think my question still hasn’t been answered ...my status of i485 is still showing request for initial evidence of my receipt for i360 that I filed, when I went for the interview the officer said she will deny cause my wife who petitioned for me wasn’t there,I explained all the abuse and that I just filed the i360 3 days ago but she checked on system and said nothing is showing that she will deny cause my wife petitioned for me,I begged and showed her some few evidences of our marriage and the abuse, she asked for our joint pic and joint statement of account and she collected my police report and put it in my file and she still says she will deny it regardless,I was unhappy but got out of it quickly cause it wasn’t my fault that my wife turned out to be what she is ..so I moved on and waiting on the next step...when there is life there is hope,so when I got home I tracked my i485 status to see what’s showing whether I will see denied.,but I saw that it shows that no one appeared for interview and the next day I saw request for initial evidence I was confused, now I got the letter and they asked for the i360 receipt so as to make decision on my case and the deadline is 29th of April, fortunately my lawyer got the receipt and scan it to me and I sent it to them on the 13th,up till now my status hasn’t changed on my i485 that they received it and it shows that it has been delivered and received by a person but name was withheld,so my question 1. Is that, are they not going to update my status stating that they have received it, 2.or maybe they haven’t received it yet maybe there was a mix up somewhere cause I was told on the rfe letter that I should send the receipt of i360 to my local field that I had the interview.i don’t want a situation whereby they didn’t get the receipt and they deny the case it will be so painful to me,so when I called the Uscis they said they can’t share any information as regards the i485 to me ..but they asked me on what ground is the i485 and I told them I filed i360 and was told to send my receipt so they can decide on my i485..what I want now is that I don’t want to be left behind by the local field office thinking I didn’t send cause I want expected them to even let me know that they received the receipt for the rfe...I Dnt want mix up anywhere or my case gets complicated that’s why I keep asking on here and calling Uscis and they said they can’t share any information as regards my i485 not even on my i360..i didn’t ask any questions about my i369 cause I just filed it’s just the i485 cause I want to be sure everything is going right  and if they actually received the receipt ...cause I will want to renew my work authorization and would want to know where to send my renewal i485 form to to get my EAD renewed before the decide on my i360...please I would be glad if you can tell me how to go about the renewal of my EAD..actually I got the EAD on my abusive wife’s petition so how can I renew it now that I filed i360 and also still want to make use of the marriage based i485...please I need help in getting appropriate answer as some. People might have encountered similar situation like Mine and I’m also sending them the receipt again on Monday to tell them that I sent it before ..I know the can miss that again if they missed the first one cause I don’t want to be too comfortable thinking I have nothing to worry about...I need help in telling me how to go about the renewal of my ead c09 and also my abusive wife still stalking on me harassing me,I moved out of that house now ..so how am I gonna change my address too ..thanks would be kindly waiting for an answer....

Be sure it was transferred,  that's the reason they cannot tell you anything about it, go on and apply.

I understand you but I was just so worried when I didn’t see my i485 status changed to rfe received..still showing request for initial evidence, well let me prepare for the worst and hope for the best,I will believe you but I will still send them the receipt again one more time and make an attention to the status that hasn’t been changed cause I will have to renew my work authorization that I got from my i130..so how will I go about the renewal..I also applied for ead c31 after my i360 is adjudicated...so what can you say about that..how do I renew my ead even it’s about to expire

DMV......

My ex spouse i485... before coverted to  filed i360 vawa had no grounds to give me a drivers license , even with my 180days EAD renewal extension.....

I wish to share my experience...my spouse divorced July 2018 , Green card interview was September , I went with just a copy of my filed vawa i360 as I havent gotten a receipt yet and told the office to hold ex spouse i485 on abayance  and he agreed,  i filed vawa i360 2018 September, since EAD card renewal now taking forever , I filed Renewal of EAD October 29th 2018 and got 180days automatic extension but the issues was I work with UBER and Lyft and so I need my drivers license Renewed as it expired November, Getting to the DMV with my expired EAD and uscis 180days Ead receipt , DVM tried to renew my Driver's license and it filed and they told me my ex spouse i485 case he filed for me with USCIS is saying pending...they asked me to write VSC,... i called USCIS they couldn't help and i went for info pass but no help.. i was frustrated not knowing that the i360 i filed has not yet synchronize with i485... I got prima facie January and I was still waiting for EAD approval and saw some folks here getting 6month drivers license with prima facie... so today April 25th 2019, I went to DMV and ask them to use my prima facie to give me a driver license and I was refused by the manager she said this dosent work in Georgia maybe other states but not GA.. my 180 days extension was already 1month to go as it was issued November , I had no choice and I wanted to try the 1month drivers license to confirm if my i485 that DVM said was pending then as of December 2018 would go tru, the lady had look more closely into the computer and said they have a 4month Drivers license to offer but I need pay $50 , I had no choice but to pay and I got 4months drivers license... now I started working again with Uber .... 4months it's a long time ,hopefully I get my EAD renewal b4 then...
